“William Shakespeare's’ Romeo and Juliet”, directed by Baz Luhrmann is a film that is a reenactment of the original play written by William Shakespeare. The film is about two rival families, their ongoing feud and two, star-crossed lovers, fall in love, who then learn they are sworn enemies. In the opening scene, it shows the audience the two opposing families and how they dominate Verona. We see this from the enormous skyscrapers that are entitled with the names ‘Montague’ and ‘Capulet’. This image is then followed with two photographs of each family trees on the front page of the newspaper which is also separated by the statue of Jesus as is the skyscrapers, the newspaper page then burns up in flames.
