British Beatlemania My subject is the “Beatles” and they definitely started a fire worldwide over 50 years ago. The “Beatles” were an iconic band whose lyrics were very influential and were different. The “Beatles” were something we hadn’t seen here yet in the United States as they were from England. The Beatles were four British pop stars who started out in England and were a #1 hit in England for quite a while. Once America began to hear the “fab four” on American radio stations, America fell in love. The band started a “Fire” because they stepped onto new ground and broke the boundaries of music taking the industry to new heights. The Beatles arrived in the

Epstein also convinced Capital Records to release “I want to hold your hand” in the U.S. with a 40,000 dollar promotional campaign according to (Beatles arrive in America on February 07, 1964). After the show with Sullivan, the Beatles went through the roof along with their first hit album. They made 5 more hit albums in only 12 months. The Beatles were a huge craze and were loved worldwide with a passion. They started off singing in clubs in England and finally got signed by George Martin of EMI parlophone label. When the Beatles hit it big, the amount of fans they had was incredible. Their manager seemed to know what he was doing and got them with Sullivan who really helped raise their ratings and the first ten years of the Beatles in America is when they really became big. The journey the group was about to go on was just beginning though. The British invasion exploded from here and started many trends as …show more content…
They performed “Let it be” witch was the last album ever recorded by the Beatles and was recorded before “Abbey Rd.”. The producers then finished the final touches on it 2 years after “Abbey Rd.” and the album was released on May 8, 1970. These albums were all great hits even through all the bickering and tension between the members. “Abbey Rd.” was especially famous for striking the controversy of “Paul is dead”. This was hinted in the album cover leaving little clues like the suits they are wearing and how Paul is not wearing shoes symbolizing his funeral. The dead are buried barefoot in England. The famous little yellow bug license plate says, “28IF” which the public took as another big hint to supposedly “Paul’s death”. This is because if Paul McCartney had truly died he would have been 28 years old the following year. We all know this was a hoax because Paul McCartney is still alive today. He is now called, “Sir Paul McCartney” because he was “Knighted” by the Queen Elizabeth II for his “services to music” on March 11, 1997. After the Beatles broke up, Paul McCartney started another band called “Wings”. John Lennon got into singing about politics losing a huge fan base. An example of a song he wrote about politics was “Imagine” about imagining a world with no war and being united as one. Even though the song was about a very sensitive topic, it was beloved by the people. He produced his last album in 1980 and in December 1980, he was shot outside

The Beatles were more than their music. They influenced the lives of millions of people unlike any musicians before them. They were the first and most popular band in one of the most important music movements in American history, the British Invasion. The year 1964 was the year both the British Invasion and “Beatlemania” came to America and forever changed the landscape of music in the United States by introducing the genre of pop, as it is today. The Beatles started as an English skiffle group in the late 1950s. By the time they reached their peak popularity, the term “Beatlemania” was coined to explain the frenzied obsession with the group. A former associate editor from Rolling Stone drew a comparison between the Beatles and Picasso, calling them “artists that broke through their time period to come up with something that was unique and original.” Throughout their discography, the Beatles have time and time again released music that both broke musical trends and engrossed the masses. They have held an “unprecedented top five spots on the
When they arrived in America, they were alreay known in England, but the success they had back there was nothing compared to what they were about to experiment. Like I said before, it all started with their perfomance in Ed Sullivan. With 90% of the United States watching, the Beatles certainly had all odds on their side.

After wards, British invasion groups took America by the storm. “The Beatles’ arrival in America in 1964

Everyone, Americans and Europeans alike, have heard-of, if not grown off of, a generation and culture started by an ensemble of four shaggy-haired Liverpool musicians that the world went mad over; no one can deny that no greater event impacted today's pop culture than "Beatlemania". But not everyone has heard the story behind the Beatles, who were they? How did they become the band and how did they make it big? What's the story of their struggle?
America in the 50’s and early 60’s was a conservative country having recently been involved in World War II and the Korean war, and now facing the rising tide of communism. Americans were missing that little bit of excitement in their lives and people were very inhibited. They needed an outlet to let their suppressed feelings out. Then came four lads from England that would soon shock the world, who called themselves the Beatles. The Beatles in the 1960’s positively impacted America by changing the music industry and American youth culture, so that young people became more politically involved, freethinking, and independent. The Beatles legacy continues to affect society today by giving the young people a voice to be heard and influencing the way they live and view society today.
