I was assigned to write a technical research report on my future career or major field for my English 114 class. I chose to focus my research on finding out the qualifications, job expectations, and job outlook of a childcare worker. The information that I used in my report was obtained from a personal interview, and two online websites.
My report goes over information about the education, essential characteristics/skills, duties, job growth, employment, and the pay of a childcare worker. The most notable information that I found from my research is that there is little to no educational requirements to become a childcare worker. Most people assume that in order to become a childcare worker one must have postsecondary education, but that
The values and goals of being a childcare provider is having the desire to teach and guide young children. There is no control involved, how a child develops at whatever pace is up to the child themselves. No child wishes to be naughty or nice, they simply want love and to satisfy their natural curiosity. Providers are simply there to teach them appropriate behavior and how to solve problems independently. The top goal of a childcare provider is to offer the best practices in teaching. An Early Childcare Educator is available to support children and families while they learn and grow.
While regulation and standard are the keys to the success of a childcare facility, there are factors that I believe are equally important to be successful in an early childcare program. So, I looked for a highly qualified teacher with good communication skills. Saint Mary Academy Inc. displayed these factors upon entry to the facility. I saw degrees of teacher and directors ranging from masters to bachelor degrees specialized for the profession display behind the desk of the director for the day.

Being a parent transformed me in unexpected ways. I found myself wanting to provide for my daughter and later my son the same security and benefits my parents had provided for me. I found a job at University Children’s Center. UCC provides care for children from the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years and I wanted to be close to my children. I worked with all the age groups but found my niche in the infant program. I enjoyed the close bonds I was able to form with both the babies and their families. I took great pride in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I took classes to become Infant Nursery Room Supervisor. Once again, I excelled in my studies and enjoyed the learning process. Bringing the information I learned into the classroom was

All members of the staff must act as professionals while at work, especially with young children. The administrative and teaching staff must work together to ensure their practices are developmentally appropriate, and share new and/or creative ideas with one another. It is also the responsibility of a teacher to establish an open, trusting relationship with the parents of each children in their care. Thus, parents can freely communicate their thoughts, concerns, and/or suggestions about their child or the program. On September 21, 2015, I met with Ms. Katie, a student in the MSW program at NCSU, to conduct an interview. We met at Starbucks in Cary, in the crossroads shopping center. As a prospective social worker, my questions were formed based thoughts that I was concerned about my responsibilities in the social work field..

I believe that as an early childhood educator my goal will be to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child. I also believe that play should be the base of learning since children learn best by doing. I believe that a balance between teacher-directed and child-initiated activities is essential balance can be developed by using the developmentally appropriate practice approach, which means that activities should be “appropriate for each child and relevant to the child’s ability, needs and interests, also including the child’s family and being respectful to the child’s culture.

The obvious solution for unemployment is of course to create new jobs. Though, sometimes the economy isn’t strong enough to create sufficient jobs, so that is where the government has to provide help. There are many ways that the government can help more Americans to be employed. One way in which the government can help to lower the unemployment rate now and in the future is to improve the cost, quality, and quantity of childcare. Many families right now are in need of assistance or more assistance. According to Child Care Aware of America (2014), 11 million children younger than age five are in childcare and these children spend 36 hours a week in child care. They also stated that the average cost of care is particularly unaffordable for single
To maintain a commitment to professionalism, I plan to stay informed on every childcare law and regulation, as well as the changes that occur through the DCF website (http://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/child-care). I will continue my education through college in the field of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, which will increase my knowledge about taking care of children and helping them thrive. Maintaining my DCF (ECPC) certification as a childcare provider is also a key aspect of maintaining professionalism. These three resources are vital to achieve success in this field.
