To maintain a commitment to professionalism, I plan to stay informed on every childcare law and regulation, as well as the changes that occur through the DCF website (http://www.myflfamilies.com/service-programs/child-care). I will continue my education through college in the field of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, which will increase my knowledge about taking care of children and helping them thrive. Maintaining my DCF (ECPC) certification as a childcare provider is also a key aspect of maintaining professionalism. These three resources are vital to achieve success in this field.

Being a parent transformed me in unexpected ways. I found myself wanting to provide for my daughter and later my son the same security and benefits my parents had provided for me. I found a job at University Children’s Center. UCC provides care for children from the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years and I wanted to be close to my children. I worked with all the age groups but found my niche in the infant program. I enjoyed the close bonds I was able to form with both the babies and their families. I took great pride in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I took classes to become Infant Nursery Room Supervisor. Once again, I excelled in my studies and enjoyed the learning process. Bringing the information I learned into the classroom was

The values and goals of being a childcare provider is having the desire to teach and guide young children. There is no control involved, how a child develops at whatever pace is up to the child themselves. No child wishes to be naughty or nice, they simply want love and to satisfy their natural curiosity. Providers are simply there to teach them appropriate behavior and how to solve problems independently. The top goal of a childcare provider is to offer the best practices in teaching. An Early Childcare Educator is available to support children and families while they learn and grow.
