In the world today, technology is further developing every day. With all of the advancements in technology, there is going to be a need for up and coming computer and information system managers (CIS manager). So if one has discovered that becoming a computer and information system manager is the career that one would like to pursue after graduating college, they will have to understand all there is to know about this career choice.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics website, the official definition of a CIS manager’s job is to “plan, coordinate, and direct computer-related activities in an organization.” (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Furthermore, a manager of this field will work for an organization and will be responsible for that organization’s computer system needs (McKay, Dawn R.). In order to meet the needs of the company’s computer system, a CIS manager will have to be familiar with the benefits and limitations of different types of computer hardware, software, and programs (Education Portal). Being familiar with this information will allow the potential CIS manager to recommend improvements for the company.
