Pursuing a profession in the medical field has always been my goal in life due to the complications my body has reached. Coming off of having a brain tumor, I can understand the fear one must have rather it is being in a hospital bed or a simple doctor's visit for the unknown. It is the connection and bond that I can have with a patient as I can relate to their own fears. People of all age groups struggle with a simple life gesture such as breathing while many of us may take advantage of the air that we take in. By all means, I would love to be that person who can breathe a new life into them and there is no greater feeling than saving the life of a patient. Not only do I want to help people in need, but give them a sense of comfort and trust
Most Universities are expensive and some people can’t afford to go to them which means that for the people who can go it will take a sizable amount out of their earnings and then on top of that you then have student accommodation to pay for which averagely costs £12,056 - £29712 per anum which piles up the pennies even more. But whilst you’re at Uni you will be working to make back the money and the further you get in to the profession of Pathology you can earn a comfortable salary of £26,350 to £102,500 .But to earn big salaries you have to be highly experienced and work in a private practice ,and most doctors will work because they know they are helping others not just for the money.

Growing up I dreaded family reunions. Don’t get me wrong I love my family, but the initial day of our homecomings always felt redundant. The only conversations relatives offered were about school and what I wanted to do for a living. “How’s school? is easy to dodge; my future on the other hand… not so much. “I don’t know” never satiated their curiosity. In fact, most of the time that reply only spurred more inquest. “Well, what do you do in your spare time?” was the most used career diagnostic question. While cousins that liked animals or baseball were told to become vets or athletes, my admissions to researching theme parks and pop culture in my free time yielded jokes about becoming the person in the Mickey Mouse suit or paparazzi. When I was stationed with the Marine Expeditionary Unit in Japan we had a mission in which we needed to be rapidly deployable within 24 hours. Do to the expedited nature in which we needed to be deployed we spent many days and weeks rehearsing rapid response. We additionally conducted several real world deployments that were conducted successfully due to our drills in rapid response. Within this unit I can attribute our success to the Executive Officer within the organization that was a Lean Six Sigma expert. He used to have the company lay out the individual data as to how fast we moved to deployment ready. At first, it appeared to the casual observer that the slowest unit needed the most help. However, as I now understand due to statistic class, that was not always the case. This is where statistical process control (SPC) has helped me greater understand what he was accomplishing. SPC is the process used to “improve the quality of a process” (text 251). A unit that would appear to be slow, as
