They may administer medication, monitor patient recovery and progress, and educate patients and their families on disease prevention and post-hospital treatment.Being a Registered Nurse (RN) is a great job to have but there are many obstacles you have to face if you want this career. If you want to be a Registered Nurse you have to make sure you are prepared to work when you might not feel like it. You also need to be ready for any medical condition you have to work with. One of the skills is flexibility. You have to be able to work longer shifts or shorter shifts. Also you need to be able to work in the morning and or night. Paying attention to detail is another skill. To be a RN you need to pay attention to the little things because if not, you can change someone’s life. Communication is one of the keys to being a registered nurse. If the patients are worried, you have to have good communication to calm them down so they do not feel any discomfort. The average yearly salary for a registered nurse is close to $70,000 and the average amount a registered nurse makes in an hour is close to $35. If you work for a while you may earn a little more than when you started. The most you can make in a year is close to $80,000-$85,000 and the least is about $40,000. Education makes a difference in salary because there are different jobs in the field of a Registered Nurse that requires a longer amount of college
