I take the train every morning at 7:35 a.m. At the 34th street station to go to my summer assignment that is located on 56th Street. The ticket agent in the booth would always be there to say good morning to me, and I would wave back to him, and run to catch my train. On July 29, he stops me to ask me about my uniform, and I explain to him. I am a Cadet form the Salvation CFOT here on my summer assignment. He was surprised to know that the salvation was a church. I gave him a brief history about the Salvation Army, and he so impresses he wanted to visit the Corps. I gave him a snap shot of my testimony and how I was called to become an officer. I gave him the story of God’s great love of us that he sends his son to die for our redemption.
FFA is all about making member into better leaders. These leaders later on become an officer just like the ones that taught them life lessons on communication, teamwork, and citizenship. It was Fire Chief Carlos Elizondo and I acknowledged his presence by saying, "hey Carlos". He then said, "aren't you going to shake my hand", then I noticed his hand. I told him in, plain voice, that I do not shake hands. He leaned into me, within my personal space, and told me that If I don't shake his hand then I need to salute him and for me to read my rules and regulations book. It, the Rules and Regulations. states that I need to salute officers! So, I saluted him. After that, he was still within my personal space and he repeated himself and told me to READ and LEARN the Rules and Regulations book and to salute. So I had no other choice to re-saluted him in front of a fire scene. (Later, I find there is no documentation in the Rules and Regulation about saluting officers). At that moment Lt. Rigoberto Bocanegra arrived to witness what was going on stepped in between me and Fire Chief Carlos Elizondo. I stood by to wait for further
When I applied to be a HOSA (Future Health Professionals) officer, I had no clue what I was getting myself into. I knew that my responsibilities as a HOSA reporter were to write the newsletter and attend officer meetings, however, my duties spanned far beyond my expectations. Being a HOSA officer at the Biosciences and Medicine Academy (BSMA) is the equivalent of being in student government at a regular high school. My responsibilities as a HOSA officer are to be a leader and a team player. My leadership role is extremely significant to me because it has given me the opportunity to learn and gain soft skills through personal experience.
In my opinion the candidate is highly motivated to become a Medical Service Corps Officer. His knowledge, skills, ability and experience are a perfect match Medical Service Corps Officer program, and are uniquely suited for the Radiation Health program. He is determined to excel and improve himself and others on all levels, no matter what. The candidate's potential as a career Naval Officer is "Outstanding", defined by a genuine concern for the welfare of others, professionalism, and excellent character.
There are many reasons I would like to be a HOSA officer. Every since I was a little girl, I have been passionate about healthcare. My dad used to work in the ER and he would always tell me crazy stories. I am in the Intro to Healthcare class right now. Everything we learn is extremely interesting.
If you were to elect me to be a National Honor Society officer, I would accept the responsibility with much humility and gratitude. As an officer, I will ensure that every student involved in the organization has the best experience possible. I will also provide great leadership skills, teamwork abilities, and an overall prestigious character to the role of an officer. Not only do I take pride in our school and NHS, I also take pride in being a leader and role model to my peers. Conclusively, granted that I posses the experience and knowledge that is necessary to uphold such a position, I would make an exceptional officer for the National Honor
When Christmas comes around, it’s time for all the different types of charities to come out. The Salvation Army is one of them; they are out everywhere looking for people to give money. When they are ringing the bell, people do not ask what does this support. They are instantly digging in their pockets, wallets, and purses to find loose change. When they find coins or dollar bills, they just put them in the red bucket and keep on walking. Why do people do this? People should research charities before giving because the money may not be spent on what the charity says, may not reach the people in need, or could just go to waste.
Why do people help others? This question answers itself to make people feel better and to help others. Today you will learn about salvation army's history, spread of organization, and the ways it helps people.
The other bit of news is that Mr. Shufner has started doing street corner preaching with the bible. I never knew him to be religious, but considering where his life has headed these past few years it’s his only means of comfort. You’ll usually find him in the Safeway plaza with a small crowd handing out fliers. I went to approach him the other day after getting myself some meal milkshakes, and he seemed rather… distant. He used to be pretty friendly towards me before, but now he’s acting like I’ve done something wrong to him. Rather than engage me in conversation, he starts to recite verses to me with the sternest of looks. Maybe I have a bad habit of getting under people’s skin? Maybe he’s still bitter about Robin’s untimely demise that he’s taking it out on me? It seems a bit petty, but he hasn’t been right in the head since the tragedy. As I sit here at my desk typing up this article, regarding Shufner 's small Christian healing seminar I try to figure a way to approach him for the next part of the article. He didn’t seem interested in promoting it out loud, but randomly approaches people off the street and offers them free prayer and healing. He’s also started a Christian get a way program, he takes people out to an old isolated church town

Webster’s dictionary defines the word profession as a type of job that requires special education, training, or skill. Many Soldiers would not consider the Army as a profession but a way of life. Some think the word profession belongs to everyday jobs like a plumber, mechanic, or doctor. Dr. Don M. Snider stated “the Army is a profession because of the expert work it produces, because the people in the Army develop themselves to be professionals, and because the Army certifies them as such” (Snider, D. M. 2008). In October 2010, the Secretary of the Army directed the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) to lead an Army wide assessment of the state of the Army Profession. We have been at war as a Country for over a decade and the Army
For as long I can remember, I have always wanted to be a soldier of the US Army. As I grew up, I heard stories from my family members about their life in the military. I had completely idolized my cousin while growing up, and when she enlisted it only strengthened my resolve to do the same. You could say serving in the military is in my blood, family, and future.
I was visiting the local church for a community event when I met potential participant I wanted to include in a focus group. The Del City Church of Christ host a weekly initiative called the Community Cup, which takes place every Tuesday morning from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The church provides free donuts, coffee, juice, and milk for the community as we harvest free fresh fruits and vegetable. I arrived at 7:30 a.m. on June 13th to have donuts with my grandchildren, after sitting for a while and observing the different individuals and families that came in and out I started walking around and greeting everyone. I introduced myself as a student at UCO, enrolled in a summer class called Linking Families and the Community. Of course, they commended me for sticking with it and I explained my assignment to them and asked if anyone would be interested in being a part of a focus group. Six of the guest agreed to meet with me the following week at 8:00 a.m. at Del City Church of Christ in a designated area; 2 of the 6 canceled when I called to confirm our appointment. On June 20th, I met Mandy White; age 18, Maribeth Snap; age 63, Mike Brown; age 43, and Juanita (no last name) approximately age 56.
