Behavior Theories Working from a belief that leadership can be taught, Behavior Theories look to define tendencies of people and match they to the right situation in order to be successful. (Satterlee, 2013). This is a different than Trait Theories were a person either is or is not an effective leader. These categories of leadership style can be as simple as task-oriented or people-oriented as was defined in the University of Michigan study. (Satterlee, 2013, p. 105). Or they can be far more complex as in Bauer (2015). were they studied the effectiveness of behavioral leadership in the Slovack and Hungarian settings. (Bauer, 2015).
