What does being an American means? Being an American means having freedom, liberty , and justice for all. Being an American is having freedom of speech, religion , and race. To be an American is to have equality, and being able to be yourself. It is also having freedom of race, gender , and sexuality. Being an American is having the right to bare arm , right to vote, and free education. An American person has more security and opportunities than any other nation. To be an American is to be free, courageous, respectful, and being happy. Being an American is being able to be yourself without being judged. To be an American one has to be able to form unity , be willing to fight for justice, and able insure domestic tranquility.
What Does It Mean To Be An American? So I think that to be an american is that you have the rights to say I pledge of allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and so on. Also to be an american you can pick the job you really want, what shift to work, and the most important thing of all you can get an education. To be an american there is a lot of duties to do.
Simply living in America doesn't define you as an American. Being able to proudly own that you're an american, giving up things to better the country, working overtime, helping those who are homeless, picking up the litter, loving your country for what it is. If you don't contribute, if you can't own it, and if you can't stand up for it, you're not an american. Being American is being free, having the right to believe in what you want, being able to not only have a dream, but make that dream come true.
What does it mean to be an American? In my eyes to be an American means to have privileges, rights, and freedom. America isn't perfect, but it is one of the only countries that have rights given to people of different diversities and gender. America does not have tremendous poverty. Instead we have choices given to us by the people who fought and died for the American people. What does being an american mean to me? Being an american means that I have freedom to do things that I want,liberty,and the pursuit of happiness which the military fights for. Another thing I have is rights that means that I have choices to pick things that I want to do in life like pick a job or do whatever because of the military fighting for are country. I also have justice which means that things are fair and you have a fair trial if I go to court and can not just go to jail.

The first thing that comes to mind about being American is to have freedom. Being an American means to have the right to choose what school I want to go to, to travel around the country without any trouble, and be able to achieve my career and educational goals, without any any pressure from the government or military groups. To be American means that you will not be judged by your religion or ethnicity, and if you are, you have the right to defend yourself. It means being especial because you can be from other ethnicity and still be American that’s what it means to be an American.
When asked what it means to be an American can be kind of a hard question to answer when being fortunate enough to have grown up in the United States of America. Being an American, coming from ancestors who farmed their whole lives, means hardwork and dedication to what you enjoy can bring happiness out of the hardships of life. An American from this standpoint has three distinctive traits, opportunity, bravery and hardwork. Opportunities in life are what you make it. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave.
To many people being an American means different things. To some it means being able to watch football on Sundays and eat hamburgers. To others it means having the choice of what to wear or how to act, but for me being an American means so much more.
