I have like art since i was in elementary school. I had always enjoyed going to art class and learning new things and practicing them when i had a chance to do use it. I have like to draw or sketch things out. Art got me to become an extroverted person because i didn't take art in middle school because i become introverted because i was around many talented people in my middle school, but when i got to high school, i just took art because them three years in middle school not taking art i missed out and i didn't want to just push art away. I started becoming extroverted again. Then i got interested into Photography or animals and of just normal day things to take pictures of and then draw them to make a scene of the drawing i am going to make.
As a child I enjoyed drawing several objects, and I felt that I had a rare gift to express life through art. I hope to reinvest my time back into my childhood hobby upon graduation later this year.
I started at taking art classes in high school to explore how I might use art to change and shape the world around me and I started to learn the demands and possibilities of what art could do and what I could do. From fifth grade into my sophomore year college my mother had cancer and various types at that, and so 50% of my responsibilities were home and the other 50% were at school. I ended up missing school often, but I managed to graduate high school in three years so my mother could see me graduate because it was one of her dreams. After high school graduation, I quickly jumped into community college starting in the summer. In college, I had responsibilities at home but I found my self always thinking and making art. I started taking as
The first class I took part in was weaving and fibers, and similar to that of playing an instrument, art influenced my life. Weaving and fibers opened up a whole new world I had never experienced; my grandfather built me my own loom, and my whole family became interested in my art projects. After taking my first art class I chose to participate in many more: arts & crafts (twice), ceramics, and stained glass. Art opened up many opportunities for me both socially and intellectually. I participated in art competitions including the contest for the Erie Times News 100th year anniversary (my school placed second) and the Vans Custom Culture contest. I collaborated and built friendships with diverse groups of individuals, worked on group projects (such as stained glass windows), and a plethora of independent study projects (macrame hangings, dream catcher’s, gnome houses…). Through the arts both musical and visual I experienced unimaginable opportunities and experiences that allowed both self-expression and
When I was younger, I started with making collages, and as I grew older and developed a better eye for shape and detail I started drawing with graphite, colored pencil, illustration markers, and pastel. About three years ago, I became really interested in painting, which is the main medium I use. I use art as a way to express myself and illustrate my best memories the way that I see them. Using specific color schemes and symbols to represent my best memories helps bring me right back to that place when I look back at piece that I’ve finished. Art is my way of remembering the best moments in my
Art plays a huge role in my carefree personality. Poetry pushes me to use the power of my voice and to care less of what people think of me or my story, giving me the freedom to tell my story how I want to tell it. Not only poetry, but being a visual artist also gave me the urge to express myself unapologetically because it's a freedom in what I draw and how
Some of my extracurricular interest include art. I enjoy art because it allows one to capture a memorable moment that one could treasure for eternity. But it also allows one to see another one’s point of view. Art allows one to express one’s true inner thoughts and one’s true self without feeling ashamed of oneself. Art allows me to stretch my creative muscle and it also allows for me to get to know my true self.
For as long as I can remember, I have felt a strong desire to express myself creatively. As a naturally observant and imaginative person, I never doubted that I would find my passion in life through art. Filled with a need to share my perspective of the surrounding world, I tried out many different art forms in search of one that truly connected with me. I probably should have realized early on that photography would be in my future, after all, my father was a professional photographer and Art Center graduate. I vividly remember as a young child spending countless days hanging out in his studio after school, watching him set up his shots and chatting with clients.
Throughout my life, I did participate in a lot of activities, but art has consistently stood out the most to me. I would regularly be doodling through school, then gradually got increasingly serious about drawing in Middle School. I was known to
I think that I have an excellent balance of academic and artistic skills. Since 7th grade, I have taken an art class. This class creates a soothing break from my academic classes that improves my inventiveness. I try to express my creative side through my art work. Through several art projects, I get to expand and explore my artistic ability. Art, to me, is a form of communication. It communicates my thoughts and imagination in ways school, grades, and scores cannot. It is a complex matter and is not easy to fully clarify. Furthermore, outside of art class, I use my creativity for art projects in other classes. I try to incorporate it into a majority of my classes. Additionally, I have an interest in art that is demonstrated through extracurricular
studied various art mediums to explore creative talents. In my junior year, I decided to
When interpreting the scores recorded, results show consistency for each trait. This is represented with the context as each trait has a high and low end to the scale but there is no negative or positive side. After combining empirical research and the results from the Individual Assessment Scale evidence suggests, according to my personally results. Having high Extroversion evidence indicates that high levels of extroversion correlates with people being more inclined to make friends therefore they are more likely to interact in class and attend study group sessions. Statistically proven students who preform this task have higher results (Donnellan, Oswald, Baird, & Lucas, 2006). Another interesting point identified was consistency between an average score in Behavioural Activation System (BAS) and average grades. A score in BAS relates to detecting goal conflict such as approach-avoidance, approach-approach, avoid-avoid and an average score suggests that when faced
Surprisingly, I excel in art. I used to dislike art in elementary and middle school because
My interest in the arts has always been in my heart ever since I was a little boy, it wasn 't until
Art. To me is something undefinable, what I want my art to show you is a piece of myself and a piece of yourself. Something we can all relate to; a memory, a song, a poem, art should make you feel something. Art is a gift, a tool we can use to hide beauty in ordinary places and things. I want to broaden my understanding of design and the world that art is beyond my knowledge and experiences. Because my love for creating burns so bright and deep within me, I am determined to find a career path that will allow me to explore the world of design and art every day. A number of art forms are endless and this seems like a daunting task to find just one path that can express the enjoyment and involvement I want to have with art. Throughout my life I have been endlessly drawing, painting, sculpting and creating--often times I feel almost cursed with such talent to create because the ability seems endless. I have taken a number of art classes exploring my passions as a High School Student and created many different types of works including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; etching, embossed, and screen printmaking; charcoal, graphite, and pastel drawings; Sculpting with ceramics and plaster as well as wheel pieces. I find that there is few mediums I have yet to experiment with. I have become accustomed to Acrylic paintings as I have recently started to create paintings and sell them to community members. I participated in a local art fair and it opened my eyes to what art
Since I was a child, I liked drawing. I also drew and painted when I was an adult. It brought great pleasure to me but with the busy schedule of a full-time working mom of one, then two and then
