The environment is the domiciliary created as a gift by mother nature, to give us a place to work, grow, play, and live. However these days, our beloved environment is being polluted, rigorously. We humans and other living creatures depend upon the environment and our natural surroundings. It gives us all the essentials for survival, such as oxygen/fresh air, food, shelter, and water. It is always there for us, whether we need a peaceful, serene escape from our fast-paced cities, or when we’re feeling a little adventurous, and just need a chance to explore. The environment has made beauty accessible to us, right out our front door. Mountains, caves, beautiful landscapes, and idiosyncratic animal species, are all “Yours to Discover.” Yet,
It is well known that industrialization in America started in the east. However, the gold rush was the reason why California industrialized much faster than the east. With the technological improvements, that the gold rush demands it helped California industrialize much faster. James Marshall first discovered gold on January 24 1848 on the south fork of the American river. A not so well know part of California history is that James Marshall was not the first person to discover gold in California. Francisco Lopez was the first documented gold rush in California. It is less know because right after Lopez had discovered gold the war between Mexico and US had begun. Moreover, like everyone knows Mexico lost and lost California and other territory to the US. After James Marshall had found gold and after everyone had started to hear the news, few people started rushing to the minefields. The gold rush fever had not started yet because many people were hesitant. It wasn’t until president, President Polk at that time, confirmed that there really was gold found in California after the announcement by Polk was heard. Massive amount of people from all over the world rushed to California. States were not the first to hear about the news. Actually, people in Hawaii were the first to find out. As trading ships were leaving the San Francisco port on their trips across the pacific. Was when the Hawaii found out about the news? When the states
There is an unwritten sense that the bond between man and nature is predestined. Humans may have a physical relationship with each other, but the connection with nature begins at birth. However, continuous advancements in technology, as time passes, weakens the bond between humans and nature. People have become fixated on technology and checking social media, so much that they lose touch with nature. Even though humans only need water, food, and shelter to survive, humanity has an ever growing need to innovate and improve man’s living conditions. Humans tend to think of nature as responsible for providing for humans, instead of vice versa. Today’s society lives in the fast lane, where instead of being able to enjoy leisure
Af Allegory Response To Napoleon And Stalin In the novel, “Animal Farm,” by George Orwell, there are many animals in the barn, all controlled and lead my one. Napoleon. Napeoplean is an intimidating character, he uses violence to control the animals, he was nine vicious attack dogs to make sure everyone is in line, following his rules. Napoleon's characteristics of control and violent are very similar, and are based off of Joseph Stalin's actions towards his people.
What would i bring to the eco quest team? My parents instilled in me a passion for travel and an interest of learning about other countries. I have been lucky enough to visit 20 different countries over the years. Interacting with people from different backgrounds and countries has made history more interesting.
Richard Nixon has declared war on drugs in 1971. He announced to the Americans that America’s public enemy number one is drug abuse. Drug users are everywhere from their own homes, schools, communities, courts, jails, hospitals and prisons. Those who use drugs have nothing to good gain, it only causes problems. Children are neglected or abused, innocent civilians are robbed or even killed for money to buy and obtain drugs. Most eventually end up imprisoned for few years to live.
People tend to lose themselves in their everyday lives, forgetting all that the earth and nature have to offer. A simple
The customary idea of the environment is human focused, with everything that encompasses (surrounds) us characterized as the environment. Then again, science characterizes the earth as a mind boggling arrangement of living things and natural processes and the human species only one player in this web- albeit with significant impacts to the environment (Maxwell, 2014). Environmental health encompasses chemical, biological, and physical hazards and thus is not limited to industrial pollution as many often associate environmental health with.
What are we doing to our environment? This is a question many people have asked but never quite been able to answer in the fullest way. How do we find out the answer then you ask? By multiple sources. There’s the ‘scare’ tactic, saying what could happen in the future if we don’t change our ways. There’s the ‘inspirational’ tactic which spreads the word of all good that we can, should, or maybe even have done to our environment. And last but not least, the ‘fiction transformation’ tactic which turns something that we would read ourselves or maybe to our children to open up our eyes of what’s going on. Why is this important to even know? Many different ‘eco enthusiasts’ express their research on the environment, this general tactic is called ecocriticism. Ecocriticism is where authors analyze texts that embellish environmental concerns and study the various
A photograph of Earth reveals a great deal, but it does not convey the complexity of our environment. Our environment (a term that comes from the French environner, “to surround”) is more than water, land, and air; it is the sum total of our surroundings. It includes all of the biotic factors, or living things, with which we interact. It also includes the abiotic factors, or nonliving things, with which we interact. Our environment includes the continents, oceans, clouds, and ice caps you can see in the photo of Earth from space, as well as the animals, plants, forests, and farms that comprise the landscapes around us. In a more inclusive sense, it also encompasses our built
The environment provides many valuable resources for human beings including but not limited to many necessary elements for sustaining life. It can be argued, therefore, that when a person protects the environment for his own good and that of future generations, he may justify his actions under the principle that human life is sacred and must be protected. Without air, clean water, and healthy plants and animals on which to feed, the human race, along with many other races, would die out.
Every story has a beginning. Mine started on June 9, 2000 at exactly 8:36 a.m., in the magnificent town of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I was born the younger of two sisters. Oddly enough, my sisters and I all share the same first three letters of our names. Those letters are a,s, and h, which contribute to form the names Ashley, Ashtin, and Ashlynn. At a young age all I wanted to do was to be outside. From dusk until dawn, I always found a variety of activities to do outside. Whether it be spending time with my dogs or going on an adventure in the pasture, I constantly had a reason to stay outside all day. My love for the outdoors will more than likely last forever. Just like enjoyment for the outdoors, I love spending time with animals. I adore any and every kind of animal. Growing up we owned a rat named
Environment is the only home that living creatures have, and it provides all our needs. However, it is necessary for an individual to show respect to the environment. Basically, on natural resources for the sustainability of the future generation. For example, in the short film “Ancient and Model world,” it shows how the Gamo people believe that you can get more use out of using the land and its resources rather than by using scientific facts and engineered materials to get work done like what we do here in America. However, I think the modern world has destroyed several trees and wild life in the process of adding roads and buildings but forgot to know that the future
Mother nature provides us with a clean environment to live but despite of this, we still find ourselves doing destructive damage to it.
Imagine a world without pollution. A globe that’s free and open with clean and fresh air. Now this may sound like the perfect world to many, but to others it sounds impossible. It takes a lot to make it happen and there are many steps before reaching that perfect world. Pollution has many factors, from litter, garbage and plastics to oil spills, urban air and greenhouse gasses. Things like this cause natural disasters and environment hazards such as hurricanes, floods, avalanches and storms. The sad truth is that no matter what nature does it’s going to survive, humans are the ones in danger and they have do something to save the future generations.
Environmental issues have been a cause of a lot of debate in the recent past. Governments and nongovernmental organizations have been in constant consultations on how to help protect the environment. Apparently, as a result of man’s many actions, the natural environment is getting torn apart so quickly that the coming generations will not enjoy this kind of environment, unless a
