Bens career has been and gone, and he is recognised as a legend. Ben Cousins joined the West Coast Eagles in 1995 West Coast was the previous year’s premiership winners. Ben joined thinking since he was a rookie and one of the youngest ever to play at a professional level he would be happy with a game every 3-4 weeks and he got just that, and more Ben showed his abilities at a young age and got more games than he expected. He knew that if he were to improve his game too much and start being a real threat down in the forward line, he would end up with a “tagger” meaning he would have a harsh and hard opponent to beat to get the ball. Sure enough Ben pushed himself to and beyond his limits to become a better player individually and as a team player.
