Benchmark Assignment: Gospel Essentials
There are three basic world views recognized. A world view is "A set of assumptions or beliefs about reality that affect how we think and how we live” (Krise 2017) it can also be described as "The comprehensive perspective from which we interpret all of reality"(Krise 2017). Simply put it is our beliefs and views about the world, god or no god, and the afterlife. The three world views are Atheism, Pantheism, and Theism. Atheists believe there is no higher power or afterlife. Pantheists believe that “all is god,” they believe in a spiritual realm but no single god, common religions in this world view include Hinduism and Buddhism. Theism believes in a single god and an afterlife that connects to that

Simply put, there is still only one God, that consists of 3 parts.
“The meditation on community reminds US that the church is the people of
God, the body of Christ, and the temple of the Holy Spirit, and that when we find it difficult to get along with people in the church, perhaps it is because
God is trying to teach US to give and not just receive, to love those who irritate us so that we can understand God’s love for all people, and to serve sacrificially, just as Jesus did” (Diles 2016).
Humanity
Per Genesis God created humans on the 6th day out of his own image. Some people believe this refers to characteristics, while others believe this refers to physical likeness. The fall of humanity started with Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit. They were banished from the garden, and humans were cursed by God from that day forward. He made work hard, allowed us to feel suffering and die, made childbirth painful and more. Many people question why God gave us the ability to sin if he is so good and gracious. The answer is God gave us free will to make our own decisions. Adam and Eve had free will but were not sinful by nature. After the fall, God
There are a variety of differing worldviews in practice today. Every person has a worldview that is shaped by their experiences, pasts, families, traditions, values, and beliefs that form the core of who they are. The Christian worldview is no exception. This worldview is formed by the beliefs and teachings of the Bible. The worldview is shaped and centered around the view of who God is, the purpose of humanity, the true identity of Jesus, the restoration of humans to God, acknowledging the strengths and weakness of the worldview, and the practicality of living out the worldview.
Let’s talk about the world about 2,000 years ago. It was a world where the mass of people were illiterate, taxes were extremely high, and the leaders would cheat and kill to feed their ever growing need for power. We all can relate to having a good storyteller in our lives, most were read to at night by their parents or are parents themselves that read to their children. What is the purpose of storytelling? It’s simple, comfort. A good story can ease your psychological unrest as well as offer a moral purpose. Sometimes you can even relate a story to your own life and offer an explanation to something you may be experiencing. This is exactly what the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were. They told their stories of Jesus to offer comfort to their people in a time when people could not pick up a story and read it themselves. It is part of human nature to have the desire for a good story. This paper will describe several events that were written by great storytellers in the bible.
All over the world, there are many people who believe in something or someone of a higher power. There are about five billion people who believe in a higher power (Tiemann 526). There are six world religions that have followers all around the world. The six world religions are Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. Many of these religions are monotheistic, which is the belief of only one god or one higher power. There are also polytheistic believers, which is the belief in many or more than one god. These six world religions have a lot in common and they also have their differences that make their certain religion or belief special to them.
There are many different types of worldviews in play during this day in age. One of the broadest indecisive worldviews is the New Age worldview. The New Age worldview ism to help individuals find their inner divinity. The New Age movement believes that we are all divine, therefore, we are all gods. This is great contrast with the Christian worldview who believe that there is only one true God. Although these two worldviews are very different when it comes down to “Who is God?”, they do have some commonalities. This knowledge greatly affects my worldview and affects how I live my life.
We teach that the church is thus a unique spiritual organism designed by Christ, made up of all born-again believers in this present age (Ephesians 2:11-3:6). The church is distinct from Israel (1 Corinthians 10:32), a mystery not revealed until this age (Ephesians 3:1-6; 5:32).
It is not difficult to see that even back in the Garden of Eden man was created to have free will. As long as Adam and Eve refrained from eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they were choosing God and His ways. This shows God created us for free will. Had God not created us with a free will, Adam and Eve would not have had a choice. Once sin entered into the world, God in His foreknowledge and sovereignty had a plan for man’s redemption. “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel,” (Genesis 3:15, KJV). It was foreordained in the Garden of Eden for Jesus to come as our savior and redeem us from the curse of sin. God will not force Himself on us. It is up to us to choose God and His ways. It is God’s desire that we choose Him. “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou
I agree with the punishment the of human race because God expressed he’s wish to Adam only now it was Adam obligation to uphold Gods words. God want to be obedient him, however, God charge to Adam was not to eat from the tree of knowledge good and evil and Genesis 2 :16 “the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die”. But Adam was influence by
God’s intention when he made the human race was to make us in His image, likeness and to be dependent on Him but along the way something went wrong. Pippert states that people “tried to be equal with God.” Once Adams and Eve’s guilt were discovered they did not respond well. Adam tried to deny what he had done and to hide it from God and when that did not work he blamed Eve and then even God. However the Bible lays it out that these are only reactions and they are not the
A worldview is not determined simply by a single factor, value, belief or view. It can be described as a collection of beliefs a person has about his or her life and the world around. This worldview can include aspects such as a consistent decision making process, an idea of what is right or wrong, and also who or what authority do I respect and follow. This view can modified constantly by factors including experiences that a person might face, a changing environment, and different values. There are many different types of worldviews and perspectives people have about the world that help to shape who
A worldview is the philosophy or belief of an individual in regards to how he or she answers the following: what prime reality is, who or what created humans and the universe (if they were even created), what makes someone a human, where do humans go when they die (if they go anywhere), what the purpose of a human is, if Truth is something that exists, and what morality should be (how humans should act & what is good or evil) (Vidal 2). There are several types of worldviews that people have trust in such as naturalism, theism, postmodernism, nihilism, etc. These worldviews divide the entire world, separating one culture from another. A worldview can be so complex that it creates cultures and belief systems within itself. As an example, the worldview of theism is found in the Christian and Islamic cultures, to of the predominant religions in the world (Bellaimey). While both religions believe in the same God, each religion has different sets of convictions and commandments both physically and spiritually: Christians and Muslims dress differently according to their beliefs, ultimately to obey their God; they worship differently as well. Another religion that is dissimilar from the ones previously mentioned is Hinduism, a religion mostly practiced in South Asian countries such as India and Nepal (Das 1). Hindus are polytheistic and worship several diverse gods and deities. Cultural disparity does not only occur in the theism worldview: it can occur in any worldview. A country
This paper will identify two theological issues related to a Christian understanding of community. Within this essay, the writer will include the ways experiencing community in small groups fulfills God's desire for believers to be in a relationship, with Him and one another.
In six days God created the universe, the earth, and every living thing on it. This includes human beings, who were made in Gods own image. God created Adam and Eve to have an unobstructed relationship with him, He placed them in a paradise called the Garden of Eden and gave them freedom to live in friendship and trust with him. God saw that everything he created was good and He rested on the seventh day (Genesis 2:2). God left Adam and Eve in the garden with specific instructions: they are NOT to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. However, they rebel and sin enters the world after a serpent tricks Eve into questioning God’s love and motives. In her gullible innocence, she ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 3). Eve shared the fruit with Adam and they spiritually and physically die. This was catastrophic to Gods Order and led to the condemnation of all human
In Leonardo Boff’s Liberating Design of God, Boff leans toward a unitarian view of the Christian God, who can be talked about with a trinitarian structure. When describing how the trinitarian modes of God interact, Boff accounts how “God is a coexistence of upward (the father), lateral (the Son), and depth (the Holy Spirit)” that are all “integrally present in the living experience of the believer” (Boff 391). Here, Boff refers to how the three modes of God interact within a Christian believer to compose the unitarian God that a Christian believes in. In effect, the three modes of God comprise a community that “permeates creation in its proper divine reality” (391).
Today’s society consists of many worldviews. Most people tend to pull beliefs from different religions, but often stick to one main worldview. A worldview to me is the gathering of beliefs that shape what we do on a daily basis and forms our overall view on life. When I look at my beliefs critically, I am able to see my worldview and see how it compares to different worldviews, but also how it compares mainly to the Christian Worldview.
I. A worldview is a person's concept of what the world is, how the world operates, and the place he or she has in the world. The worldview can also encompass the philosophy of life held by the person, because life philosophy and understanding of the world are generally linked to one another. In other words, a person who has a highly religious worldview would very likely have a philosophy of life that encompassed the need for a kinder world, and that included the relationship between what happens in this world and the promise of an afterlife. The person who has an atheistic worldview would be expected to have a philosophy of life that was different from that of a religious person, and that encompassed different things that were important to that person. A worldview can change over time, of course, because it is generally shaped by parents and school at an early age. As a person ages, he or she explores the world and sees it differently, which can lead to a change in the overall worldview held by that person and how he or she will choose to respond to the world in the future.
