In my opinion, I believe that the Stinging Jinx should be classified as a Hex instead of Jinx, mainly because of how powerful the effects of the spell are, especially when they worsen. Despite the normal outcome of the Jinx, and the belief that the effects aren't strong enough, the Jinx can still easily be used with cruel intentions or even used by the wrong witch or wizard with the hopes of it causing serious bodily harm. Similar to the Confundus Charm, this Jinx can also be used incorrectly. The Confundus Charm can be used repeatedly on the same target, although it's recommended not to because of the dangerous effects it can have on someone's memories, to cause them to eventually lose their minds. The Stinging Jinx can be used in the same

In the Jade Peony of Wayson Choy, poh-poh or the grandmama seems to be the most intriguing character. Her character is complex for her grandchildren who are the narrators of the novel and therefore complicated for the reader of the novel; but not so complicated for their neighbour Mrs. Lim or even Father and stepmother who are from the generation in between. Even though Poh-poh’s character is not the narrator, she is present throughout the story even after her death. In each of the three stories, she is mentioned, described, or quoted by the narrators. She has a huge impact on all narrators. Poh-poh like any other grandparent likes to teach her culture, traditions, and language to her grandchildren. The only difference is that her
Michael Jordan is one of the most successful basketball players of all time, due to one coach said he was too short. He wanted to prove his coach wrong, and this motivated him to become The Best. So he worked very hard to become a superior basketball player. This means he never gave up and that failure pushed him in the right direction - success. Most people, like Michael Jordan learn more from failure/defeat than they do from success/winning.
While a concussion might not seem harmful at the time, it can be harmful for some people later on in life because constant concussions and hits to the head can cause a person to be diagnosed with ALS. When someone gets ALS it’s because there is motor neurons in the brain and spine that control movement and when these die, it leads to the body being paralyzed. For athletes and for some unlucky people, this can happen when a protein from the brain goes into the spinal cord which is harmful and can cause clogs that kill the motor neurons in the brain. The spinal cord is connected to most parts of the brain and if the brain cannot connect to the body parts, then it cannot use that part of the body, and essentially this is what is happening slowly
Before Hester reveals herself to the whole Puritan community the women are gathered around talking about the situation. In response to another woman a young lady says, “let her cover the mark as she will, the pang of it will be always in her heart” (49). The word pang can mean either a sudden sharp pain or painful emotion. This is a very powerful word to use here because emphasizes what Hester will have to endure for the rest of her life. This implies that the “mark” or the scarlet letter somehow inflicts pain upon Hester directly. With all these opinions of the situation with Hester (including the one I have chosen) it functions as a build-up to when Hester comes out of the prison. With all the build up we finally are able to see Hester

Do you remember that old school education? Can you think back to those strict days of paddles, switches, and rulers? You might ask, what could a whack from a 12-inch ruler teach a second grader? In those hardcore days, many students, who were like me, learned discipline through excruciating pain, but even though there were negative implications, there were also positive advantages that resulted from an agonizing whack.
Almost everyone who has played on a sports team at some point in their life can say they sustained an injury at one point or another. Sometimes these injuries are completely unpreventable and the only thing that can be done is being more aware of that certain injury. Concussions in high school sports is a prime example. This because the potential negative effects of a concussion can be life altering. The effects of sustaining a concussion during high school can be worse than sustaining one in college or in professional sport because that is most crucial time in the brains growth.
If a child has had a bump to the head then a first aider will assess the child, if they are fit enough to stay at school the child will be issued with a sticker which they must wear in a prominent position to let all adults know they have had a knock to their head. They will also be issued with a letter to take home, this will ensure that their parents/carers are aware and can monitor them at

Psychology impact of sport injuries is a topic no one hears much about until an athlete is injured and goes through it himself/herself. High school athletes as well as professional ones both are exposed to injuries at any time, the impact of this injury might be the same. Getting injured is devastating for most athletes, what they don’t hear much is how bad it can get to them mentally. Depending on the injury, some athletes are able to return to the sport, others are not so lucky. When they are affected emotionally or mentally, it does not only affect them, but their team, the fans, and even the coaches. In most cases, these injuries and the rehabilitation process are often followed by psychological consequences which can impact the athletes’ well-being, as well as their chances of returning to their sport. The importance of sport psychology will be discussed throughout the paper to give a better understanding on how it affects athletes when dealing with a sport injury. Being aware of the psychological symptoms, as well as knowing how to avoid the effects could make a difference on someone. As well as knowing how important rehabilitation is when wanting to return to the game as soon as possible, if probable.
The ancient Greeks were unique and had a one of a kind culture which would heavily influence the Western world. Their literature would bring forth works that intertwined religious, philosophical, mythological, and political all in one. From the Bronze Age to the Dark Age, the ancient Greeks would be innovators for practices we have become accustomed to, such as philosophy, democracy, literature and even theatricals. During this time, most that had been illuminated had been lost in the Dark Ages, yet thanks to Homer, a Greek writer, some of Greeks’ lost age was recorded and survived centuries to come. Youth sports are an incredibly healthy way for kids to grow and release energy. Children in preschool can begin to take part in sports like dance and soccer, and as they grow older, the lists of sports gets longer. However, there are negatives of sports that are often not talked about by parents, coaches, schools, or the media. As a result, stigmatization occurs, leaving children struggling with sports to suffer alone. With youth sports, elevated levels of stress occur, and as a consequence, mental health can decline. Youth sports can have an adverse psychological effect on young athletes and it is an effect that can be damaging for children for their entire lives.
