Bernard Osher Re-Entry Scholarship

The four pillars of National Honor Society (NHS) include scholarship, service, leadership, and character. I have already received this application opportunity due to meeting the requirements of the scholarship portion of NHS, which requires a strong commitment to learning and putting effort towards achieving high grades in the classroom. I intend to benefit the remaining three pillars of service, leadership, and character through my willingness to work for others free of reward, initiative to lead my peers, and optimal decision making.

Many only see the National Honor Society as an organization that will look excellent on college applications, and although that may be true, the National Honor Society is not an organization that can be taken so lightly. The National Honor Society is so much more than a scholarship-granting organization, the NHS is an organization that helps develop the requisite for render service and the development of leadership and character. The growth and success of the NHS relies on not only its members, but also those outside of the organization. Its members can only do so much on their own. Part of building character and leadership is to encourage and rely on others whom are capable of helping. The members of NHS shouldn’t let their pride and achievements

Being inducted into National Honors Society requires a student to demonstrate all of the four qualities many of our role models in the present and in the past have possessed, which include: scholarship, service, leadership and character. As I’m considered a candidate for this group, I already possess the quality of scholarship and it is my duty in this paper to show that I hold the other three important attributes needed to qualify for this institution.

One important activity on the list, is being involved in the National Honors Society. This organization recognizes scholars and well-rounded students in middle and high school. These students better themselves at being active community members and exhibiting profound leadership skills. I have the opportunity to be a part of this nationally known organization.

I am extremely honored to be among the remarkable students who are being considered for National Honor Society. I am fortunate to be considered for this offer and I am confident that I uphold the standards of which the NHS is committed through my academic achievements, participation in the school’s Peer Leadership Program, the Girl Scouts of America and my experience in child care. I would like to thank the Faculty Council for giving me the privilege of striving for the highest standards of the National Honor Society.

I am privileged to be one of the remarkable students qualified to join Eureka High School’s National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to applying to this organization as it provides influential help in our society. I would be privileged to join this distinguished association because it would provide me with opportunities to get involved in my community. As a hardworking, helpful, and friendly individual, I feel that I would make an auxiliary member to this organization. I demonstrate the qualities that are necessary to join this prestigious society, including leadership, character, scholarship, and service.

I am deeply honored to be recognized as an eligible candidate for the National Honors Society. After learning about the National Honor Society, and what the organization represented, I knew it was something I wanted to participate in. This organization works hard to better educational opportunities for students across the nation, and that is something I would like to play a part in to further the outstanding reputation of the NHS. I believe that this is an opportunity I deserve due to my recognizable hard work. I am aware that the NHS is known for recognizing students with outstanding grades and commendable characteristics, which is something I believe I have obtained throughout my years of hard work.

Being selected as a member of Grove School’s National Honor Society would be a great honor for me because I hope to achieve my goal of exhibiting my dedication to academics, community service and extra circulars. I strive to be a role model and a resource for my peers by guiding them in the right direction. I think I could be a valuable addition to NHS because I have a strong work ethic, have a passion for helping people and not only meet but exceed all the qualifications of leadership, character, service and scholarship.

It is truly an honor that I have the humbling opportunity to be a potential member of Barry Goldwater High School’s National Honor Society and that I would have the privilege to represent the society’s values and principles. I am elated to have the occasion to demonstrate and further develop my leadership skills and become a productive member in my community. Throughout my academic career, I found that the utilization of the four principles of NHS has helped me and I know that I will continue to demonstrate these traits in the future far after I graduate high school.

I am Jamral Dejohn Rease, From Greensboro, North Carolina, son of Sammuel Johnson and Karen Rease. Currently I attend the University of North Carolina at Pembroke seeking a Master degree in the field of social work. After graduating from Grimsley high school in Greensboro North Carolina, I enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, with a scholarship to play football. After a career ending concussion my junior year, I decided to pursue a profession in human services. To be engaged in my community and its development is very important to me because the people I admire engage in the same responsibility on a professional and humane level. Moreover, they take personal responsibility by staying engaged in community. These are values and beliefs that I have integrated throughout every aspect of my life. Further, surrounding myself around more individuals that strive to continue these goals to aid in my development as a greater leader and mentor

Receiving the recognition as a qualifying candidate for National Honors Society gives me great esteem in accomplishment. This translates to me knowing that my hard work has paid off and one of my first steps in the leadership of this community as well as larger roles can be pursued. I believe that my time as a National Honors Society student of Carteret High School can be trusted for the benefit of our society because I have proven to possess the qualities of good character, leadership, service, and scholarship. My time awaits to provide our community with the leadership it needs while at the same time leaving an example of a great student for everyone to reflect on for the betterment of themselves.

I am honored to be one of the recipients of the Lawrence J. Sonneman and Laurelle A. Sonneman Endowed Memorial Scholarship. Thanks to your generous support I am the first in my family to attend college.

I am excited to be considered as a candidate for National Honor Society (NHS). Through friends and family, I know the main characteristics a NHS member must hold include scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Through hard work, I have been able to hold a GPA over 3.8 in both 9th and 10th grade; this shows my strong dedication to scholarship. I am a dedicated person who enjoys giving back to the community; I have participated in many volunteer activities, and I would love the opportunity to continue my volunteer work as a NHS member. If I am given the privilege of NHS membership, I will continue to uphold my commitment to service and leadership.

When I was 11 years old, I saw my older brother walk across the stage to receive his NHS award. Ever since then, my ultimately goal is to follow his step and accomplish all the requirement while being a great leader and a respectful character by providing useful service. I believe NHS has done terrific things in the society by hard work and dedication therefore, I hope to play a part in providing great service to society. I hope to confirm their belief in my qualifications by addressing NHS values of academic excellence, leadership, service, and character.

Every successful leader is built upon the strongest foundations. A foundation that is a conglomerate of scholarship, leadership, service, and character ensures the optimal potential of an individual. The importance of these pillars is most apparent in National Honor Society. The scholarship of an individual sets them above the herd; however, their character, the force that drives them to achieve the impossible, is the mold that shapes the leader they’ll become. Furthermore, service opportunities not only open member's’ eyes to the compassion needed in leaders but also the skills in management, cooperation, and perseverance demanded from them in the community.
