Binge-watching is a new way to watching a TV Show and is affecting how we watch TV Shows. Streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu are only contributing more to this new trend due to the availability of receiving media wherever and whenever you want. After reading “How Binge TV Watching Changed the World” and “No, Binge-Reading Isn’t the New Binge-Watching” I can apply multiple secrets from Hanson's "Seven Secrets About the Media 'They' Don't Want You to Know". I have several notable accomplishments, most of them are of academics. Some of the awards/accomplishments that I can recall ever since I was in middle school are: First position on spelling contest, department award for the most Helpful student, Student of the quarter, Presidential award for educational excellence (Gold Seal), 4.0 Honor roll, Indian Classical dance, Achieve3000 state winner, department award for “Excellence in English Language Acquisition,” and Academic Excellence Lettering Award. Among all these awards and recognition, I consider Achieve3000 to be the greatest because it was a state level competition and was moderately competitive to win. Binge Watching: Good or Bad? Binge watching also referred to as binge-viewing or marathon-viewing is watching television or a single television show for a long time span. It has become a very popular cultural phenomenon because of the online media services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon video. Viewers can also watch television shows and movies on-demand in a binge-viewing manner with cable and satellite services such as Time Warner Cable, Dish Network, and DirecTV. Movie apps and Amazon Fire TV stick also make binge watching adaptable. These companies offer their patrons their services at very affordable prices and therefore making it that much more convenient. Entire seasons of shows such as Orange Is the New Black and House of Cards are just two of the many shows viewers can indulge in. Other shows that are shown on television and not released at the same time, such as Breaking Bad and Undercover Boss can be found on Netflix and encourages binge watching. Binge watching has changed the relationship between the series and its audience in many different ways such as giving the viewer total control to choose when and where and for how long he or she wants to view the show.

The teacher at my school that I have the upmost respect and admiration for is Mr. DeCerbo.
