The story of Hamlet by William Shakespeare revolves around murder, revenge, and love. Yet, the stories protagonist as well as main character holds an odd secret to him that the audience tends to overlook. Being that the good guy in the story isn’t really all that good. The character battles through the death of his father, and how to deal with the unavoidable reality that his uncle was the one whom turned his life upside down, but how much are we as an audience willing to overlook simply based off a unfortunate past. The past of Hamlet is one soaked in betrayal, the betrayal of blood through an unforgivable sin being that of murder. See the brother to the king had been his end, he allowed his greed and thirst for wealth to cloud his mind
The theme of betrayal is commonly explored through stories of Shakespeare's Hamlet and the Lion King. Both texts show us betrayal because both brothers of the previous king killed their brother to become king. However, Disney's version 'The Lion King' shows us that betrayal isn't just about murder but it's about Disloyalty.
Hamlet uses many sins in his play but the sin that really stood out to me is the Deadly Sin called Wrath; Wrath happens when a person spurns has anger or madness instead of love. Hamlet has to decide whether or not to take a stand against this type of lifestyle, or let it continue further. I believe it shaped and impacted his life tremendously in a negative way.
Oftentimes the act of betrayal is an inevitable part of human nature, which ultimately leads to a domino effect of destruction. In his play Hamlet, William Shakespeare depicts various acts of betrayal throughout his play, most notably within family relations. When Claudius commits one of the most unforgivable acts of treason, killing his own brother for power, Claudius exemplifies the nature of betrayal. In the Bible, Cain committed the ultimate act of sin-behind the sin of Adam and Eve-and murdered his brother out of jealousy and proceeded to lie about the murder to God.
The legendary drama, Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare is a play illustrating the theme of virtue vs. villainy. The 17th century tragedy is plagued with treachery and deceit as it opens with the news of a foul murder in the kingdom of Denmark. Prince Hamlet, by word of his late father's ghost, is informed that his uncle Claudius is to blame for his father's sudden demise. Prince Hamlet's mission is to uncover the secrets surrounding the murder and to avenge his father's death. Thus, the insidious web of disease and corruption is formed. The relationship between disease leading to the greater corruption of Denmark plays a significant role in the lives of the principle players.
Deception in Hamlet is fundamental, without it there wouldn't be a plot, the characters wouldn't be interesting and get the audience involved, honesty and transparency would destroy the play.

Looking at the character of Hamlet throughout the play, it is easier to spot his many dishonorable actions than his few honorable ones.
The word love is used many times throughout Hamlet. It is used to show respect to one one person to another. It was used to express feelings from one character to another. But, the word “love” adds emphasis to the theme of loyalty vs. betrayal in the play. Using the word “love” was to show your loyalty to one another.
Hamlet is the most tragic and betrayed character because of the death of his Father, and the remarry of his Mother to his uncle and from his inability to express his love for ophelia.
