Old Testament Bible Dictionary Project:

Romans: Romans is a letter from Paul to the church of Rome. Paul had not ever been tovisit this church but had met some of the members in his travels. I tells of his plan to visit the church. He wrote this letter durning his third missionary trip in 57 A.D. In this letter he explains that God’s sa,vation plan is for everyone, Jews and Gentiles. Belief and acceptance in Jesus and his sacrifice is the only requirement for salvation. All now have the same access to Jesus, the messiah.

He admitted to it in Galatians 1:13 being exceedingly zealous in his pursicution. But God, Jesus, called Saul of Tarsus out in Acts nine. Jesus appeared to Saul and blinded him when he asked “Why do you persecute me?” Jesus commanded Saul to continue on his journey and soon Paul was healed and baptized in the Holy Spirit after Ananias laid hands on him.

After that Saul was refered to as Paul. He left his old life and began his mission as a amasador of Christ’s message to all the world, or the world as it was known at that time. He left Jerusalem and began his missionary journeys, at least five of them. He went to Asia minor (modern Turkey), Syria, Greece, Italy, Spain even Britian.Paul trained Timothy and John Mark. He was so dedicated to the calling Jesus put on him that he paid for it spending five years or more in prison for his teachings and faith on multiple occasions. He was whipped bewaten and tortured on more than one occasion. He even lived through a stoning attempt and being shipwrecked. He paid the ultimate price with his life as a martyr at the hands of the Romans.

Ephesus-Ephesus was a port city and the commercial and religious capital in Asia minor or modern day Turkey. It was actually the leading sea port in the empire of Rome with it’s hand dug man made harbor. It had a large road leading away to the mountain cites making it accessable by both land and sea.
