Biblical analysis
This work analyses the four named books and looks at the recipient of the letters as the main characters. It also looks at the type of rhetoric speech used in each letter and uses citations from the Bible to support the arguments.
Colossians
Paul wrote this letter to the people of Colossae. He begins by giving thanks and appreciating the people for holding on to the faith. Paul starts by saying that he always thanks God for the people of Colossae. In verse 11-12 it says, "May you be made strong with all the strength which comes from his glorious power, so that you may be able to endure everything with patience". Paul then talks about being alive in Christ and clearly explains that "Since you have accepted Jesus Christ, live in union with him". In the third chapter, he tells them that they must put away their old desires because they anger God. They should forget about their destructive old ways and change their way of life. The fourth and last chapter talks of interaction with fellow workers in the body of Christ. Paul urges the people of Colossae to continually pray for the believers and act as role models.
This letter has a number of exhortations for the Christians at Colossae. Paul centres his message on good conduct. He begins by appreciating their good conduct so far and urges them to keep on with the good work. He exhorts his readers to keep true to the faith and to dismiss the teachings of false prophets.
