People will always remember Bill Clinton, for what reason, however, might be different. Some might remember him as a wonderful president who helped our country pull through the millennium unscathed. He protected our environment, promoted education, strengthened our economy, dropped the crime rate, dropped our nation's poverty levels and had some victories with international policies. At the same time we have health care that is falling apart, some problems with the military and a scandalous affair. Considering this one has to wonder what his legacy will be. People will always remember Bill Clinton, for what reason, however, might be different. Some might remember him as a wonderful president who helped our country pull through the millennium unscathed. He protected our environment, promoted education, strengthened our economy, dropped the crime rate, dropped our nation's poverty levels and had some victories with international policies. At the same time we have health care that is falling apart, some problems with the military and a scandalous affair. Considering this one has to wonder what his legacy will be. A respected leader who learned as he went and made many valuable reforms? Or a president who didn't hold to his promises, and lied to the country? President Clinton has done many things during his presidency. Some were good some were bad. He made some mistakes and bad choices, but in the whole, he helped our country excel and flourish.
One of the things Clinton is most famous for, but not the proudest of, is his affairs. The issue of Clinton having an affair with Monica Lewinsky is purely personal. It should have been discussed within his family and in his family alone. Many people seem to forget that Presidents before him have done the exact same thing. John F Kennedy is probably the best known with his affairs. This doesn't diminish the fact that Clinton took it one step farther and lied about the affairs.
Bill Clinton's "I Have Sinned" speech effectively engaged the audience, in which most ended up forgiving him for his sinning. With the help of ethos,pathos, and logos Bill Clinton could easily touch with the audience on a personal level through pathos. He already gained their attention as being the president of the United States with ethos, and he used logos though the Bible. All of these led to America forgiving Bill Clinton for cheating on his wife and lying about it. This is a huge thing to be forgiven for especially when you are supposed to be the #1 role model in America, but because Clinton used these effectively he was able to gain peace.
The impeachment of President Clinton is something that will be remembered forever. Along with the fact that a presidential impeachment has only happened one other time since the Civil War, the publicity that came with the Clinton trial was extensive (Miller 2004). While the Republican and Democratic members of the House of Representatives had vastly different views on impeaching President Clinton, the fact that only five Democratic Representatives voted to impeach him truly shows how wide that gap was between the two parties. A tragic hero is a person who is adored or praised by the public eye but then chooses an action that eventually leads to his or her’s own destruction. These kind of heroes have been around for an extreme amount of time. A tragic hero is most commonly heard of in a novel or epic, but there have been many historical tragic heroes throughout the real world. Every continent, every country, and even every state has had at least one real life tragic hero in their midst. Clinton was a Democrat nomination, he won the election, and was then 42nd president of the United States, from the years 1993-2001. After his presidency he gave a misleading testimony on the Lewinsky investigation. Clinton’s license to practice law was suspended and had to pay a $25,000 fine. For those who don’t know, impeachment means to bring a government official to trial over accusations of illegal or shameful activity. What helped him accomplish his goal was that he went to law school and college.
Bill Clinton was a leader worthy to be serving as president of the united states of America. He cared about everyone and anyone. He fought for equal rights no matter your class. Even though on the road to success there were bumps along the way. He stood up to them in the right way.
There will always be problems within the American government, and dissatisfaction with how the country is running. Clinton’s presidency was an overall prosperous eight years for the country as a whole. He focused in on certain aspects he wanted to resolve, and carried them out. After his re-election he continued to prove his progression with real results. He implemented core principles from the Contract with America while uniting the Democratic and Republican parties. Clinton gave hope to the American people as he balanced the budget, created new jobs, and constructed a newfound leadership. Clinton’s speech and the Contract with America both efficiently addressed problems with the government and managed to solve the main problems.
