Employees at Microsoft work together in small teams on a per project basis. The teams are given a budget and allowed to organise their own working hours and arrangements, effectively with each team working like a small business on its own. This unique style of micro-management is what Gates' describes as being one of the reasons behind the continued success of the company. Gates has managed to form one of the worlds largest organisations and has still managed to retain much control over decision making through the development of his management style and vision. Entrepreneurial vision is what Gates has plenty of. The continuing expansion and dominance of Microsoft has shown him to be consistently striving to improve in the global marketplace. Along with this vision comes the ability to take advantages of opportunities. Gates has been central to expanding his product range and consistently developing new products and creating a market for them. Since Microsoft's founding in 1975, Gates has had sole responsibility for Microsoft's strategies. He has aggressively widened the company's range of products, and wherever Microsoft has achieved a dominant market position he has defended it. I consider Gates to be a prime example of an entrepreneur.
