Biodiversity is life, it heals us as more than 70,000 plant and trees species on earth are used in medicine. It gives us shelter, without wood we couldn't build houses, furniture or tools. Biodiversity provides us with food and clothes.
The biodiversity of this world is not permanent; it can change by time and human activities. So we need to keep a balance between all three elements to enrich our Earth with benefits that biodiversity provides us.
To make the ecosystem strong, the interwining between the elements of biodiversity needs to be denser and more.
For example the Amazon Rainforest, which is famous for being the most biodiverse region due to huge mix of species and the genetic verity within those species. It includes tall trees which
1. Biodiversity play a key role in our environmental benefits. Humans depend on the contribution of thousand species for their survival (i.e. food, air & fresh water). Eco systems supply human societies with goods and services like health, social, cultural and economic needs, we often depend on one another and on the physical environment.
Biodiversity creates an interconnected system where each part builds off of one another to create a functional ecosystem. For example, a small insect such as a bee is critical for survival of many other species because it pollinates so many plants. Currently, the population of bees is dramatically decreasing due to anthropogenic actions such as using harmful pesticides. If the population of bees go extinct, so many species would follow because they would not get pollinated. This is problematic because humans do not have the time or the funds to replicate the vital work of the bee.
Biological diversity, also known as biodiversity, describes the huge variety of species found on Earth and the natural way in which ecosystems and communities are formed. In the past few centuries, humans have had an especially negative
On May 8th the grades Biology students went on an excursion to the rocky shore Pt. Cartwright. Rocky shores are where the land meets the sea. On the Rocky shore there are different zones that are based on tidal level, this means the rocky shore is a quickly changing environment and due to this unique condition it gives a large biodiversity. Biodiversity is the term given to the variety of life on Earth. It is the variety within and between all species of plants, animals and microorganisms and the ecosystems within which they live and interact (Wwf.org.au).
The speakers attempt to engage the International Biodiversity Conference to adopt measures to ensure the security of earth’s biodiversity, highlights the grave environmental struggles confronting world leaders. In the persuasive presentation, “Taking stock” which appeals to environmentalist, world leaders and those in attendance of the biodiversity conference, the speaker contends current efforts to secure biodiversity are lacklustre and threatening earth’s future, attempting to garner support for a new wave of environmental action. The images accompanying the presentation support the speakers’ contention by calling to attention that importance of biodiversity.
So we will talk about biodiversity first. Biodiversity is a group of different living organisms from around the world in one community. And biodiversity helps the biosphere because they can produce better and help other plants and humans in need. Some plants and trees have different characteristics regarding to their species.
The Interdependence of plants, animals, and humans is integral in the Amazon Rainforest ecosystem of the tropical rainforest biome. The key features of the Amazon Rainforest is the Amazon River. The Amazon Rainforest goes through Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and many other countries. Colombia has 10%, Brazil has 60%, and Peru has 13%. 80-90 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night is the temperature of the Amazon Rainforest. There are dry and wet seasons. it gets 9 to 10 feet of rain a year. The terrain is in the Amazon Rainforest are rocky mountains, wetlands , plains, valleys, rivers, streams, and highlands. The dirt is poor with very few nutrients and it is very muddy. It is also dense with trees and rotting logs. The thin topsoils, made of decaying vegetable and animal parts, take up all the nutrients. In the Amazon Rainforest there 's the Congo River, the Rio Negro, and the Amazon River.
Answer = All living things that are a part of the ecosystem are also part of web life and we can’t be without biodiversity. “Maintaining a wide diversity of species in each ecosystem is necessary to preserve the web of life that sustains all living things,” (Brown, 2008). It’s important because everything on this earth is here for a reason and this role is very important. If we didn’t have diversity all the species wouldn’t be able to interact or depend on each other and the ecosystem suffers.
Biodiversity refers to the variety of life on Earth. Biodiversity forms the backbone of viable ecosystems with which people depend on for source of life. Further, biodiversity boosts the productivity of the ecosystem, which in turn ensures natural sustainability for all forms of life. As such, biodiversity is plays an integral role in the protection of water resources, soil formation and protection, contributing to climate stability, and diversity in genes and species.
In the race to preserve, conserve and maintain biodiversity and its functions in anticipation of the unprecedented and
The opening statement given by Ms. Jayanthi Natarajan, Minister of Environment and Forests of GoI and the President of the COP11 was, “Biodiversity, the variety of life on earth, was vital to social and economic development and fundamental to humanity’s survival. The goods and services provided by biodiversity yielded both global and local benefits, especially in countries like India where biodiversity was directly linked with providing livelihoods and improving the socio-economic conditions of millions of people, thereby contributing to sustainable development and poverty alleviation. The continuing loss of biodiversity, largely as a result of human activities, should therefore be a matter of concern to all. Pursuing “business as usual” would be a grave error and would testify to an ignorance or arrogance that humans might not even live to regret. The third edition of the Global Biodiversity Outlook indicated that, if current trends in biodiversity loss continued, they would result in a catastrophic reduction in essential ecosystem services. It also predicted that action taken over the coming two decades would determine whether the environmental conditions on which human

Biodiversity performs a variety of ecological services: from absorbing chemicals to cleaning water and providing oxygen. Some types of animals work as fertilizers (earthworm) and water filters (jello fish).
Biodiversity presents occurrence of variety of species and their natural community in which they live. By the definition it is “The degree of variation of life forms within a given species, ecosystem, biome, or an entire planet. It is a measure of the health of ecosystems and is in part a function of climate.” (Rutherford) Ecosystem is on the other hand, “ community and its abiotic environment”( Rutherford). Biodiversity exists in every ecosystem, weather it is big one, or just ecosystem of one garden, it has the same importance because without it nature loses its ability to perform major functions needed for life on Earth, as it is oxygen production. Trough this investigation, two different ecosystems will be explored and
Therefore, a combination of social, economic, and environmental factors together play an important role. One pillar alone cannot be the answer to solving the loss of biodiversity issue. A battle fought on all fronts is a battle won.
