While at OSU, I have completed Pre-calculus and am currently enrolled in Calculus. I am also currently taking an EEOB course, Bio-Invasions. This course views ecological and evolutionary concepts through the lens of non-native introduced species. Last year, I also completed the AP Statistics and the AP Biology courses at my high school and received a 5 and 4 (tell them what it means to get a 5 or 4) on the exams, respectively. Once I began learning more about the science behind these natural processes I observed, I developed a serious interest in pursuing some discipline within biology as a career. I continued on the biological track through high school, competing in biology based events through Science Olympiad, a national science competition. Continuing on this path of science, my time in Hovick Lab has solidified my interest in the field of ecology and being a part of actual research has been a phenomenal experience. In the future, I would like to maintain the broad focus of ecology but go further into biochemistry and genetics within the field. At this point, I would like to start developing the skills to carry out research of my own and understand the process of collecting and analyzing different types of data. Academically, this means taking additional chemistry classes or adding a biochemistry minor. Furthermore, achieving a more complete biology and evolution/ecology course set is necessary. A reaction involving the loss of electrons is called Oxidation, and a reaction involving the gain of electrons is called Reduction. Oxidation and Reduction always occur together, as one reactant loses electrons, and the other gains them. This exchange often effects the physical states of molecules, as their solubility is changed with their charge.
Before, biologists assumed all microbes are bad for the human body (automatically thought of pathogens), caused many diseases and harm our body fundamental systems. In addition, the biologists think that our body is already built which had all the functions required to maintain our health. However, the attitude has changed over the last decade. The biologists characterized the most prevalent species of microbes in the body, and found out that these collective microbes do not threaten us, and they also are important part of human bodies.

Ever since I was a child, I have loved science. I learned at a young age to always keep asking questions and to never settle with just simply not knowing something. The thought of how everything works on a molecular level never ceases to fascinate me. I have other interests spanning multiple fields, but none can compare to my love of science. I quite enjoy being in the labs and getting to do experiments to uncover answers that were otherwise unknown to me. It is that curiosity and interest that keeps my fascination towards the realm of science strong.

Setting can make a world of difference in a great book. Setting is also one of the most complicated, and difficult to perfect, components in a story. There are several factors that contribute to a superb setting, such as wording, mood, and the story support.
At the end of each NFL season data is gathered to determine who the best overall players in the NFL are. The data gathering is done by a group named Pro Football Focus. The data is categorized by grading, statistics, and schematic context. The NFL is blossoming with new stars and still retains the presence of many present day "legends" of the game. Structure and function in Biology is a broad concept that can be explored within a diverse range of topics across the subject matter. The following essay will be focussed mainly on the subject of Deoxyribonucleic Acid, or more commonly DNA. DNA is a highly complex, intricate and extraordinary macromolecule found within all living cells. DNA is a "biochemical noun" and can be defined as "...a self-replicating material which is present in nearly all living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes. It is the carrier of genetic information." [Oxford Dictionary, c2016] DNA is found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, enclosed within a double membrane. Eukaryotic cells are multifaceted and require a high level of regulation to ensure smooth functioning. The double membrane of the nucleus allows gene expression, a key function of DNA, to be efficiently regulated.
