The soil commonly found is alkaline which allows the desert plants to grow and gain nutrients through the roots in the ground. the temperature allows for Predators to be able to hunt for longer stretches of time in cooler temperatures and often rest in the shade in preparation of hunting in the warmer temperatures. the sand dunes help to Prevent soil erosion by storing sand that replaces the eroded sand below with more sand so the total amount of sand in an area does not decrease.

Ironwood (tree): Ironwood is one of the largest and longest-lived Sonoran Desert plants, reaching 45 feet in height and living as long as 1,500 years. Ironwood provides shade and protection for vulnerable plants that inhabit the Sonoran Desert, as
An impermeable surface cannot be penetrated by any element. Such a surface will not allow rain to percolate into the desert soil leaving no plants with root systems able to survive unless specifically adapted to the climate.
A healthy dune system contains a primary and secondary dune defined by the start of vegetation as you progress from the swash and berm. The vegetation helps stabilise the landform helping to protect it from erosion, it also helps the soil in the secondary dune to become more stable and erosion resistant. The decaying plant material creates humus which makes the soil more nutrient allowing greater plant diversity.
Biomes are appropriate conditions for organizing the natural world because the organisms that live in them common constellations of adaptations, particularly the climate of each of the areas and the characteristic vegetation types that develops in these divisions. It should be understood that the climate is perhaps the most important in determining classes of individuals who may live in an area and the ways they should be amended to live under different conditions of temperature and precipitation and seasonal distribution of these factors element. Every place on Earth has its own climate, influenced by both macroclimate regions as the particular microclimate. The soils are very important because they are essential to determine the types of plants that will grow into a bioclimatic zone in partical, in addition, also as substrates for animals serve. In turn, the soils are heavily influenced by regional climate, as well as the geology of the bedrock. At the same time we have to keep in mind the diversity of plants like the flora just like the diversity of the fauna as well as the adaptation of both.
Loose soil from digging animals is easier for plants to grow in compared to the hard compacted soil found where there are no digging animals
Have you ever wondered how landmarks like the “The Tepees” in the Painted Desert of Arizona came to be? Erosion and weathering are the main culprits behind the creation of these unique and beautiful attractions. The mechanical and chemical procedure that modify objects on Earth’s surface over time are called weathering. Erosion is the method of taking weathered material from one region to another. Weathering is the breaking down of rock, soil, and minerals. Erosion is the development of being eroded by wind, water, or other natural causes. Weathering is grinding out of man-made or natural landforms. Erosion is the weathering out of surface soil and rock worn way through natural causes like water and wind for example.
In the course of this work , we have demonstrated the strong survival skills of the cacti in the Sonoran Desert. They take full advantage of the rainy seasons in the desert, and strengthen their ability of absorbing and storing water; they change their appearance to adapt to the arid environment by, for example, evolving the leaves into the spines; they adjust the photosynthesis by separating it into two steps. All these changes that the desert plants have made allow them to acclimatize to the harsh environmental conditions in the desert.
The cultural group that I am researching is the Yaqui (Sonoran Desert, U.S. and Mexico). The topic I have chosen to research is the different rituals the Yaqui perform. The reason I chose to research the Yaqui is because they’re indigenous to the same region as I am. The Yaqui, “people of Sonora [Mexico] settled along the Yaqui river… many Yaqui emigrated to Arizona to escape subjugation” (“Yaqui.” Columbia 2016). Growing up I never realized how much history took place in Southern Arizona, so it’s interesting to be able to learn about the people who made Arizona the state it is today. It’s very important for me to learn about the Yaqui, since the Pascua Yaqui tribe is based right here in Tucson, Arizona. Knowing the history of your state, country, culture, etc. is important so that you understand the present times and how the future could be formed. As for choosing to research the rituals of the Yaqui, I thought it would be a good opportunity to learn about the different rituals that take place in their everyday lives and how these ceremonies differ from events that take place in my own life.
The Greys have been creating problems for your government ever since their first downed craft was discovered in the New Mexico desert in 1947. The creatures you found (for that is what you considered them) both horrified and mystified you. The authorities were immediately notified and the few civilians present were ordered to be silent. The Air Force whisked away the remains of the fallen craft and its inhabitants, one of which was still alive. A special task force was organized to examine the findings and give recommendations. The one surviving extraterrestrial was taken to a laboratory and kept under strict supervision day and night, where after some years it succumbed to an unknown illness. This was your first encounter with the Greys.
Another important species that live in the California Floristic Province is the weeping myall (Acacia pendula). It is a tree that can grow up to 12 m high. It is an important tree due to its hard, close grain, dark colour and heavy weight wood,
The soil in the desert is very rough, coarse, shallow, rocky, and gravely with no sub-surface water. The tropical rainforest ground is actually acidic and the soil is very poor. Both the rainforest and desert have 12 hours of daylight, but the forest floor is always dark because of the broad-leafed trees. The amount of rainfall, of course, is very opposite- one has 80 inches a year and the other has 0.5 inches (I’m pretty sure you know which is
The California Juniper (Juniperus californica) is a coniferous shrub/tree native to the Mojave Desert which prefers chaparral and woodland habitats. The expansive desert above and to the south of my house is a excellent example of this habitat. The stature of a mature specimen of this particular species of Juniper usually ranges from three to eight meters tall, and their width is often similar. The Juniper grows needle-like leaves and berry-like cones. It is a handsome desert shrub with its immense overall size and periwinkle colored berries.
The Sonoran Desert is the most biodiverse desert in the world. This is due to the age of it, the sub-tropical climate in large parts of it, the creation of micro-habitats due to the different landforms and the diverse rainfall patterns. There are about 2500 species that can be found in it. It partially has a very high endemism with for example 552 species being endemic to Baja California. Numerous desert plants have been used by humans for food and medicine. Some plants like Agave tequilana which is grown to produce alcoholic beverages have some economic importance as
The heat here was unbearable. The dry hot desert was slowly taking over all our land. Once the beautiful plant we has was drying up. I have lived on this planet since the day I was born. I am currently 102 years old, some people call me a wise, others call me Athena. Our planet was at complete peace, everyone got along, we enjoyed each other 's company, the land was beautiful, until now. My fellow friends and I can 't stand this planet any longer. We are of living here, were running out of resources and we don 't know how much longer we may survive.
There are many beautiful plants in the desert. I loved spending time in the desert with my mom, it was quite and we got to enjoy it. The wildlife is a great experience and I'm excited to enjoy it more often. Animals is something I really enjoy watching, so it was interesting
Acacia saligna is a small tree endemic to the Swan Coastal plain in the Mediterranean climate region of south-west Australia and is widely naturalized in Mediterranean-type ecosystems throughout the world (Tozer and
