For parents traveling across the Atlantic Ocean Miami is a popular destination because of the location, weather, cheaper prices, and multiple options of trustworthy hospitals. However, for parents traveling from countries like Taiwan and China, California is a more popular destination. Growing more and more popular every year with around 300,000 born per year, birth tourism is a growing problem in the United States (Feere, “Birthright Citizenship in the United States: 2 A Global Comparison”).

Birth tourism is travel to another country for the purpose to give birth in that particular country to obtain citizenship for the child when they get birth in that land and gets birthright citizenship. This data shows that most of the women but not all from different countries came to the U.S only to give birth to the child.

Most people fantasize about their dream destination for their weddings, but what about dream destinations for one’s birth? The United States has made its way on the top of the list for immigrant mothers looking to give birth on American soil, in order to achieve citizenship. This growing trend is known as birth tourism, and is immoral, unjust, fraudulent, and disrespectful to Americans and the value and sacredness regarding the constitution and the 14th amendment. It is also contemptuous and unfair to the millions of refugees and immigrants who are turned away every day.
