Black Creative Production (music, dance & theater) The author is talking about the political play ‘Autumn’, which introduced the audience to the inside world of politics. The story revolves around the character mayor Franklyn played by Jerome Preston Bates. Bates character is self-centered, greedy, and will go after anyone who opposes him to destroy their lives. Franklyn advisor Zack knows about the shady deals and is uncomfortable with the situation. In addition, Franklyn’s wife Melissa knows of her husband’s wrongdoings and is tired of his shenanigans. The article is about black creative production (theater) since the play is directed by African American playwright Richard Wesley. In addition, the predominantly black casts are spectacular and deliver a strong performance. The ability to be multi-skilled in your craft displays creativity and versatility where the actors can utilize their many talents. I feel the article explores the political conflicts that arise when aspirations collide across a generational divide marked by sharply different political agendas. The character Tricia is a young, single mother whose family and financial difficulties reflect the circumstances of the urban poor. Furthermore, she delivers a compelling performance in scenes that reflect just how city policies affect individuals.
