It is worth noting that there are other forms of feminism that strive to address and overcome the issue of sexism. However, they ignore that race can discriminate against women through racial bias. Many of these theories focus on sexism from a Caucasian woman’s perspective.
In fact, the Feminism theory states that men and women should be equal politically, economically and socially. Although some of this information is relevant and the theory does identify challenges that women face, only one dimension of the research question is covered. As a result, conventional feminism theories would not suffice in this research. Since the women in question must be black, the theory must focus on black women. As a result, black feminism is more suited for the research as it tackles these problems with the black woman in mind. The Black Feminism Theory states that racism is entwined with sexism and class oppression. This theory exists because of the limitations of application regarding conventional feminism theories. Such approach thus ignores the struggles that women of African descent face which are more than those of their counterparts, reason being that they have to deal with both sexism and ethnicity.
