Black Caesar (Henri Caesar) was born in the mid-1760's to Haitian slaves owned by a wealthy French planter named Arnaut. This story is about a boy named Simon who was born with a health condition which made him the smallest boy in town, but that did not stop him from accomplishing his dream, which was to be a hero. He believes God made him this way for a reason and he has faith that one day he will do something incredible. Throughout this movie Simon shows a great amount of heroic characteristics such as bravery, mental strength and faith in what he believes in. Simon faced many challenges throughout his life such as being bullied everyday by his peers and townspeople, being neglected his whole life by his parents, sneaking into places to help his best friend find his dad, people questioning his faith, beliefs and lastly experiencing a horrific bus accident which took away his life. The story states Simon Birch is a hero and he has shows multiple characteristic of being called a hero.
