BTEC TASK 3
Fitness Test 1- Multi Stage Fitness Test
The multi stage fitness test also known as bleep test is a fitness test designed to measure an athletes’ cardiovascular endurance. This test is usually done for sports that require a lot of running, rugby for example.
I undertook this test twice to get a balanced result. In my first trial I reached Level 13 Shuttle 5 but in my second trial I only went up to Level 11 Shuttle 4. There were two main factors that affected my performance majorly:
1. The immense heat caused dehydration.
2. I had had intense athletic training which put a lot of strain on my body.
Even though these factors affected my performance I was still able to fall into the excellent category on my first trial but my second

My shooting goes down- since I spend lots of energy running up and down its is very hard for me to get my shots in therefore my coach relies on me only for defense and assists in fast break plays.
Training
According to my coach the best method to increase my cardiovascular fitness is to run every day for more than 45 minutes and after two to three days start increasing my pace little by little and increase the duration I run for. To overcome my weakness my coach says that I should do shooting drills that contain a lot of running as I then can get used to shooting while tired. Fitness Test 2- One-minute sit-up test
The one-minute sit-up test is a fitness test that tests the muscular endurance of an athlete’s abdominals. Abdominals are a very important for an athlete for various reasons, for a basketball player it is important to shoot and a strong core can even make you faster and more agile.
I undertook this test twice to get balanced results. In my first trial I did 67 sit-ups in a minute but in my second trial I was only able to do 64 sit-ups in a minute. There were three main factors that affected my performance majorly:
1. The immense heat caused dehydration.
2. I had had intense athletic training which put a lot of strain on my body.
3. Muscle
To ensure that the results gained from a series of fitness tests are valid and reliable you must make sure that the participant is fully
The final training method performed for the day was a fartlek exercise. Each repetition was comprised of a 40 second period of full intensity with a 20 second period of slow jogging given as rest. This was repeated three times to complete a full set. It was noted in my training diary that this was a fault due to the work to rest ratio set. Despite my aerobic capacity being deemed ‘excellent’, it was not practical to allow such a higher work than rest. This is because of the training principle ‘progressive overload’ which implies that “the load needs to be slowly increased as we become accustomed to the existing level of resistance to bring about further improvements.” This suggests that training loads should become more intense over a period of time, not increased too abruptly or with too much intensity. As the body has not been given time to adapt to this high training intensity of 2:1, it could lead to the possibility of injury. Implications of injury occurring may lead to fitness levels either plateauing or decreasing. This is due to the training principle ‘reversibility’ which states that “fitness improvements will be lost as training
So I trudged to the crematorium. My job at the crematorium provided heat, but too much of it. I was constantly sweating while shoveling bodies into the raging fire, and when it was time to crawl into my tent, the sweat on me would turn cold and
How unfortunate it is that my passion for the sport forced me into a two-year journey of severe pain and hardship. In March of 2014, I spent a few weeks on and off in the hospital. My right arm had swollen to twice its size, had turned a deep purple, become ice cold, and felt like a fire ant had gone on a biting spree all over my arm, and was sentenced to bite me for eternity. At first, because of the odd coloring of my arm, the doctors believed that I had a blood clot, but none could be found, and they were stumped. At the end of my first three full days at the hospital, I left with a diagnosis- Reflex Sympathetic
In this lab, the focus was to study muscular fitness. In muscular fitness, there are two main components of measurements that are being taken, which are muscular strength and muscular endurance. Muscular strength is an individual’s ability to exert their maximum force. To test muscular strength, there are multiple tests such as 1 RM , Static Handgrip Strength, and Back Strength Dynamometer test. Muscular endurance is an individual’s ability to sustain prolonged muscular contractions. Tests that reveal results about an individual’s muscular endurance would be tests such as YMCA Submaximal Bench Press, Push-Up, and Plank test. It is important to remember that there is no single test for endurance and strength that will tell an
Workouts were tough but practice was tougher. Soreness from weightlifting was a part of the routine. The heat seemed to be unbearable, but Coach pushed
All the while, I went to practice and everyday, I went home physically and mentally exhausted.
First, on a daily basis of my high school years (my Junior year to be exact), I would come home with exhaustion or be overstressed mainly because of my weight training and AP US course. The reason I had chosen weight training course was because I wanted to be in good health and for my AP course I had chose it because I wanted to challenge myself. In my training course is similar to a regular physical education classes, but more intense as you are working out every day some days with weights and only with cardio which I love, but I would also be competitive, especially in running
Myalgia or muscle discomfort is incredibly common for beginner athletes and people who work out with heavy equipment, due to the fact the most widespread causes for the condition is overuse or over-stretching of muscles. Muscle pains can cause severe discomfort and are typically the reason why people lose the determination to work out or even do anything beyond moderate physical activity. This is due to the fact that by the time you recover from myalgia, you'd have already lost that inital excitement in the thought of obtaining good health.
All pools were open because of the extreme heat. The heat caused heat exhaustion, heat cramps, sunburn, and heat stroke. The heat wave was caused because of an unusual circulation pattern. Water was needed for survival.
If your body is in pain, you are probably not going to be hitting the gym to lift weights! If
Have you ever worked out so hard that you puked? There are two workouts that have caused me to do this in fact. Achieving this requires a vast amount of physical and mental effort. When I first started working out I couldn’t lift a large amount of weight. Since then I have gained much more strength than before I started lifting weights in Mr. V’s class.
Running the same routine over and over since August 14, 2004 and it is now October 6th. Bodies are aching, feet are sore and we all feel as though
Measurement of aerobic/anaerobic capacity allows evaluation of individual’s metabolic abilities, indicates state of fitness and effectiveness of training programs.
And despite that, he was exhausted and perspiring. Perhaps the sunny weather was to blame, but Shining had grown near heat resistance ever since he had become Captain of the Royal Guard.
