He says this because some people don't see the beauty in life and are invested in little things and not a spectrum of something. Nature is beautiful and we can't let that go. Whether it be our friends, family, pets, trees, flowers, and much more, we need to appreciate what we have. California was first discovered by Spanish Missionaries in the 1700s. California become a U.S territory in 1847. Discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill in 1848("California"). It is the 3rd largest state in the United States. The capital of California is Sacramento. The current population is ~38 million people. California is 163,694 sq. miles. It's nickname is "The Golden State" ("California"). The population leaped from 14,000 to 250,000 in 4 years. In 1850-1859, 28,280,711 ounces of gold was found in California. It produces the most about of wine grapes. The hottest spot in California is Death Valley, it reaches over 120 degrees Fahrenheit("California"). There is about 10,000 earthquakes a year, but only 15-20 get to over a 4.0 magnitude. The national tree is the California Redwood and the national bird is the California Valley Quail. The percent of smartphone users have doubled since 2011("Mobile Fact Sheet"). 96% of men own a cell phone while 95% of women own a cell phone. The ages 18-29 ~100% of people own a cell phone. Tablet computer sales are rising. 1 in 10 Americans use their cell phone primarily for the web("Mobile Fact Sheet"). Younger people are more reliant on smartphones. White people are more smartphone dependent than blacks or Hispanics. People with less income still had close to the same amount of smartphone use as people with high incomes. Surprising, people with less income are more smartphone dependent("Mobile Fact Sheet"). These are the facts about cell phone use in the United States.
