For the past seven years innocence have been injured, killed, or brutally tortured by the Islamist militant group Boko Haram. They have lost their homes and precious possessions due to a cruel, selfish satisfaction of this organization. Boko Haram members believe that these “brutal penalties” is just an ordinary way to express their culture. Although Nigeria came to a conclusion that these terrorists had given up, it only took five months later to realize it was not the end. Nigeria’s strategies had gotten them nowhere and only led them back to where they started.

Western women take a lot for granted. In many parts of the world, even in the 21st century, women are not allowed to dress freely, speak freely, drive, vote, own a business, even go to school. Those that violate the tenets of the society in which they live can be killed for their lack of obedience. Still, like Rosa Parks on that bus in Montgomery, Alabama, there are women who are willing to stand up for the rights they do not yet have but know they deserve.
The article discusses the fact that the U.S. Military believes that two of the largest, most well known, and feared terrorist groups are joining forces; Boko Haram and ISIS. It goes into detail about the tactics used by Boko Haram and how unethical these tactics are such as strapping explosives to birds and having children deliver the explosives to markets. They believe that the two terrorist groups are beginning to get more close so they can plan attacks against American allies that are located in North and Central Africa. Boko Haram has already pledged their allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) but now it looks like they'll join forces in combat and there's no telling what they could do
With the traumatic events that occurred on November 13th, 2015, many politicians and media hosts have responded by attacking the religion of Islam as well as the groups that perpetrated these events. Often referring to the beliefs held by groups—such as the Islamic State and Boko Haram—as a radical and medieval version of Islam, these individuals are not wrong in a sense, but rather they are failing to notice that no ancient religion is peaceful or nonviolent. It is true that the beliefs that are held by members of terrorist groups are archaic, but it isn’t because the culture and system of modern Islam is medieval in itself, but because the terrorists that are perpetrating these are attacks are modern fanatics of the olden days. If one were to look at another major religion’s history, such as Christianity, one would notice that there have been similar moments of religious fanaticism through acts such as the Crusades.
This group took on the name Boko Haram; “Boko” means “Western Civilization” and “Haram” means “is sinful”. These teaching came at a beneficial timing for the group because there had been much doubt in the government due to the immense poverty. As a result he was able to lure in many vulnerable, religiously-inclined youths to embrace his new ideas. (Salaam).

Extremism is a rotten apple that has affected the condition of our societies. From developed countries to developing countries, individuals with bad intentions have succeeded in their attempt to marginalized religious minorities. In Europe, the Muslim minorities are victims of attacks from extreme-right groups who diabolized them for electoral purposes. Also, the rise of extremism is a reality in Africa, Asia or the Middle East. In Africa, as it occurs in the Nigeria, people motivated by vile religious leaders have come to confront people of different faith in an escalation of
Similarities between Boko Haram and Maitastine are obvious. Both insurgencies were championed by ‘scholars’ whose beliefs were divergent from that of nominal muslims; both rejected state governance not based on strict adherence to Islamic Shari’ah; both reek of structured planning as they both necessitated military intervention; and more importantly, both relied on support of aggrieved and discontent masses denied access to basic amenities by the government. Forces of distinction are however abound. Marwa's declaration of himself as a prophet distinguished him from Yusuf, whose claim was the strict application and enforcement of Islamic Shari’ah. Boko Haram is decisively more sophisticated in its use of explosives and advanced weapons of mass destruction, and also

One of such separatist groups is Boko Haram, which has established itself as a religious separatist movement active in the northern parts of Nigeria and funded by powerful political forces. The refusal of many insurgent groups to enter the Amnesty program and the commitment of MEND (the main insurgent group in the Niger Delta) to continue armed hostilities with the Nigerian state is predicated in part on the program’s
