Boko Haram is a Nigerian terrorist organization integrated into most of South Africa
that is set on eradicating Western Culture at the cost of Nigeria's development. Boko Haram was started
as a peaceful religious group who participated in protests to oppose Westernization, and Christianity.
The religion that fueled their fire at the time, and now is Islam. As their situation evolved, so did their
actions. The name Boko Haram was given to the group in 2002 when the leader was elected. The

This war affected other countries by ceasing the production of oil, which
was rich in Nigeria. Mass hunger also occurred. After the war, the current leader fled to Britain, and a
series of self-elected leaders took power, along with a few military leaders. When the war had ended, it
was a time to industrialize, and further advance society. With this advancement came Western ideas,
and Christianity. Both of these things began problems in Nigeria because of Religious groups. The
ethnic tensions were fading as the religious ones were growing. Peaceful protests occurred until it was
realized that Westernization would be a large part of every-day society. Peaceful protests turned into
violent ones, and there wasn't a leader to stop the progression.
The Biafran war was a large part of Nigeria's history, and plays a huge part in It today.
Entangled in the elections and assassinations of various leaders, the Biafran war was the peak of ethnic
and religious tensions started in 1967. Until it was over in 1970, over one million civilians starved and
died of disease, declaring the war a humanitarian crisis. It preceded the British gift of independence

Setting up clinics, or temporary
schools will give children the insight to destroy Boko Haram's future. This solution is of no affiliation
with Nigeria's government, but is for the support of their government.
Another interesting topic when discussing human rights abuses and terrorist
organizations is the United Nations Security Council. The U.N. is an organization determined to keep
peace throughout the world using the conjoined help of many nations. The U.N. is comprised of one
main decision making group called the security council, which is positioned by world powers. As the
security council has repeatedly condemned Boko Haram, no action from the security council has been
decided. They have recommended that regional military combine to further strategize, and those in
charge of economics use a more aggressive strategy to combat theft, and build up Nigeria. Boko Haram
has such an impact that it destroys the economy, and ultimately prevents further advances.
As the modern-day world advances, countries like Nigeria are left behind along
Nigeria is a country with abundant resources and the potential to be a very powerful nation, but it is hampered by many problems. These problems are caused by Nigerias colonization by England. Because of this intrusion on their way of life, their future was altered dramatically. The nation of Nigeria as a whole has suffered greatly as a country because of this colonization, its problem is rooted in the way it was colonized and ruled.
The Boko Haram sect in Nigeria has been a huge problem for the country in the past, and the threat is only growing. This group is considered responsible for a handful of government attacks, targets on the United Nations, and often churches who undermine the Islamic religion. Their actions have spawned from the idea that their country is controlled by “fake Muslims”, and aim to create an Islamic nation ruled with Sharia law.
Boko Haram are motivated by a Jihadist version of Islam and is believed to be believers of the one true interpretation of the (Brinkel & Ait-Hida, 2012, p. 16). Their ultimate goal to create a true Islamic state in Nigeria directly associated with Sharia law. (Chothia, 2015, p. 5). The group has maintained their secrecy and the authorities have yet to be captured by law enforcement. Boko Haram is seen to have many basic views including their religious motivations, political downfall, and their extreme actions taken on the people of Nigeria. Boko
Nigeria would be of a seed if there was any Nigeria before 1914. Britain was so ambitious to change our way of life; hence Biafra problem started. Maybe Biafra would be beautiful and civilized if there was no Fredrick Lugard in 1914. Lugard tampered with what was organic that has led to early graves over 5 million Biafrans, that was when Biafrans rejected fact of being unjust. The death of the over five million Biafrans cannot be in vain. Then read the New York Times report of 1966, 1968, 1969 and 1970 about the persecution of the Biafran people. We must agree that Nigeria was created as a trap to destroy Biafran people and to serves the interest of Britain. Radio Biafra (Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB) has made it clear that Biafrans do not understand what Nigeria
On Tuesday, January 17, a Nigerian bombing jet accidentally bombed a refugee camp in Rann. It was an attempted attack against the Nigerian islamist group Boko Haram. The bombing error resulted in over 50 deaths and more than 200 reported injuries. The people that were harmed by the bombing were mostly refugees or aid workers. Some of these workers were affiliated with the Red Cross and MSF, which is an international medical aid organization. The Red Cross was at the camp on the day of the bombing to deliver food to the refugees. Starvation has been a big threat in Nigeria with about 100,000 people at risk. Boko Haram has attempted to overthrow Nigeria's government and replace it with an Islamic state by the means of bombings, assassinations, and abductions. They are responsible for over 20,000 deaths and they have forced 2.6 million people to flee their homes.
Independent from British ruling since 1960, Nigeria today still suffers from ethnical and religious divisions as well as unequal distribution of power and resources among its regions. A high degree of violence and insecurity has shaped Nigeria’s political framework since colonial times. The region is characterized by systematic human under-development and socio-political decay. By draining resources from development, terrorism creates an additional burden on the society and interferes with development opportunities.
Boko Haram has yet to stray from its notoriety as a harsh terrorist threat to both the people of Nigeria and the government itself. In 2014, nearly 300 Nigerian schoolgirls were stolen from their families in the town of Chibok and taken into captivity by Boko Haram. This event has yet to be rectified now two years later, nor have the families received any news or closure from the Nigerian government. Both citizens of Chibok and activists around the world have developed voices in regard to this ongoing investigation. Videos of the girls have recently surfaced which lead one to believe that the girls are still alive; these videos, however, are most likely either old or altered. Boko Haram has yet to

Boko Haram has been terrorizing Nigeria and surrounding countries for years, with noticeable increases in power over the last five years. Best estimates indicate that the Boko Haram insurgency rose to power in the 2000s with the goal of promoting strict adherence to Islamic Shari’a Law throughout Nigeria (Bussey, Chasse, Martin, 2016). The group found footing quickly; frustrations with the faulty political system and lack of economic and social development in northern Nigeria allowed the group to recruit large numbers of members and gain momentum. In 2009, the groups leader, Muhammed Yusuf was murdered. This, coupled with increasing economic and social tensions across Nigeria caused the group to become increasingly aggressive. The group executed a prison break of over 700 prisoners in 2010 and performed the well-known kidnapping of over 200 school girls in 2014. This kidnapping truly brought global attention to the acts of terror the group was committing for the first time (Onouha, 2012). United State’s Citizens became increasingly involved, leading to the spread of the “Bring Back our Girls” movement. As United States interest in Boko Haram increased, the hostility of the group increased. In 2014, according to the Global Terrorism Index, deaths attributed to Boko Haram rose by 314%, attributing to the groups ranking as the most dangerous terrorist group in the world (Institute for Economics and Peace, 2015).
Islamic State West Africa Province, Group of the People of Sunnah for Preaching and Jihad, Boko Haram; known by many names, the terror organization that has plagued Northern Nigeria since the mid-2000s remains a threat to stability in Western Africa. Boko Haram was classified by the Global Terrorism Index as the deadliest terror organization of 2015; inflicting 6644 deaths, 77% civilians, this terror group is in fact on the decline due to infighting, coalition military strikes and a seeming lack of strategy, save for assaults on civilians and some infrastructure. Such a lack of strategy through which to attain their end-goal of a fundamentalist Sharia state in Nigeria has led to the group’s decline. A new strategy is critical if it were to make a resurgence to prominence in northern Nigeria. Should a strategically enlightened leader take the reins of Boko Haram, his first priority would be to end the hostilities between competing factions by any means necessary. He would afterwards find it necessary to integrate and garner support for his cause amongst the general population, rendering the two entirely necessary to mutual survival. The next priority would be to divide and cripple Nigerian armed forces through attacks on soft targets to degrade morale and possibly open negotiations for some kind of resolution. Failing that, calling on support from other fundamentalist organizations and countries would no doubt add to the fighting capacity and legitimacy of Boko Haram, thus

In the years 1947 to 1959, the Nigerian leaders came together to try to come to an agreement to resolve the political and religious conflicts between the north (Muslims) and the south (Christians). Christians believe that if Nigeria is governed by Muslims, they will try to islamize the country to establish Sharia law into the government. The Muslims are opposed to westernization and find asylum through religion. While the Muslims tried to extend the Sharia
