Books of Law
The Book of Genesis tells a story of God’s work. God’s creativity shines through when space, matter, time, and energy are examined. In this book, God shows us the relationship He is making with his people and all that He has created. We see all that God has accomplished and what He has in mind for us when it comes to obeying Him. This Book opens my understanding into the major themes of the rest of the Bible by breaking ground into the important questions needing to be answered by discussing religious and chronological revelations. In Genesis we learn about the Trinity, nature of man, why there is sin, and why Jesus chose to die for us. All of these events are very important to the rest of the Bible’s chronicle and why we

I John 5:7-8 says, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” These three are all God and allow God to future His reach out on to His people.
Romans 8:16-17 states, “The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.” The Holy Spirit being placed within our souls allows us to carry God in our hearts everyday with the comfort of knowing that He is always with us. God sending Jesus to be born in flesh allowed the people to see Him with their own eyes and see the power He contained. Christ had completely emptied Himself of the power of the Godhead, taking on the form of physical flesh as a servant. Christ was made of flesh, and there is nothing good about flesh (The Trinity).
We can see how important it was for the Trinity to be established in the Old Testament because in the New Testament it was used in the Baptism of many. Matthew 28:19 says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." We know now
God the Son is revealed in the Christian Scriptures. God the Spirit is revealed in the Church. The Trinitarian doctrine states that there are three co-eternal, equal persons in God, which is the notion of unity within community. The Trinitarian doctrine was further developed and defined at the councils of Nicaea in 325 CE and Constantinople in 381 CE. God was always trinity, however gradually this reality became known through revelation. Jesus calls God and speaks of the spirit which indicates a plurality in God. The difficulty is reconciling the concept of monotheism with the notion of God existing as three persons. The divine essence is common to all three, however the three persons have attributes or properties which distinguished them eg Fatherhood, sonship and sanctifying power. Once essence means that the actions (creation, redemption, sanctification) are attributable to all. Mutual relations is the concept that the terms Father and Son are not titles but expressions of a relationship and thus all three persons are co-equal
In his video “How Do You Make a Biblical Case for the Trinity?", Brett Kunkle provides three “steps” to systematically explain the essential truths of the doctrine of the Trinity (STRvideos). The first step is to “Start with the very clear passages that suggest that there is only one God” (STRvideos “How Do You Make a Biblical Case for the Trinity?”); this is essential to avoiding the heresy of tritheism. Several passages of Scripture, including Deuteronomy 6 and John 17:3, affirm that the God of the Scriptures is alone God of all the earth. The second step is to “Look[] at the distinction between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit” (STRvideos “How Do You Make a Biblical Case for the Trinity?”). By studying the various roles of the three members
The Drama of Scripture written by Bartholomew and Goheen takes the reader on a journey through the entire Bible in six short “acts.” The first Act discusses creation and the establishment of God’s Kingdom. In the beginning was complete darkness. Then, God created light and divided the heavens and the earth. He then split the waters and the seas, creating dry ground on which the rest of creation could walk. He proceeded to make plants and flowers and the sun, moon, and stars. He created days and seasons and animals of all shapes and sizes. And then, to add the finishing touch, God created men and women, male and female, He created them. The book states that “the Genesis story is given so that we might have a true understanding of the world in which we live, its divine author, and our own place in it” (Bartholomew, 29). Genesis 1-3, the story of Creation, is prevalent because it introduces the author of creation, humanity, and the creation upon which humanity’s drama unfolds.
Athanasius refers to the Son as the Word and states that in the life of grace, the Word gives the Spirit, who is the “living energy of creation” (Edwards 2014, p.60), to live on earth with God’s people and the Father is in the Word (Edwards 2014, p.61). This shows how each part of the Trinity has their own separate role but they are all one and work in accordance with each other. Athanasius, just like Christians today, is faced with opposition on the idea of the Trinity and just like him, Christians today should remain strong in the faith and solidify their
The Holy Trinity is three person in one God. The 3 persons are: The Father, The Son, Jesus Christ; and The Holy Spirit.
God is able to impact his believers and all of humanity. This person of God has become known as God the Holy Spirit. “Scripture bears witness to a God who demands to be understood in a Trinitarian manner.” Not to get confused, all three are one God, God Almighty, a triune God consisting of three persons made of one substance simultaneously.
Jesus, after he was crucified, was buried and then raised from the dead three days later. He appeared in his new physical body, still fully human and fully God, to his disciples and a vast amount of people before ascending into heaven to sit at the right hand of God. His disciples then waited until the Holy Spirit came upon them on the day of Pentecost, bringing the Holy Spirit to them, so that they could spread the gospel and share the love of God to the Jews and the Greeks, and bring the gospel to the ends of the earth. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit exist three in one in the holy trinity, and
The Godhead consists of three separate persons who at the same time are one but they also have separate roles. Jesus Christ (the Son) is the Savior as described in verse 2. He saved us from sin and death that we couldn’t possibly save ourselves from. Without Jesus we would be faced with an eternity in hell without God. God is “the Father,” He sent his Son down to earth to pay the penalty for our sins. God had a plan for our salvation and put that plan into action through Jesus. The Holy Spirit is a helper
The Trinity was not revealed in the Old Testament though it was connoted at in various places. During the creation of man God says, “…Let us make man to our image and likeness…” (Genesis 1:26). One must note that God says us and not me, which implies that He is more than one person. Then in Psalms there is an allusion to the Son and in Genesis the Spirit of God is said to be looking over the waters.
“You become my witnesses… in order that you know and believe and understand that I AM” (Is 53:10-11). In John, Jesus refers to himself as “I AM” several times (Jn 6:35, 48; 7:28-29; 8:12, 18, 23, 28, 58; 9:9). Jesus is the Holy One of God, declaring himself “I AM.” The knowledge is not just about God anymore because Jesus is in the Father and the Father is in Him (Jn 10:38). Since God sent us his One and Only Son, and shared part of himself with us, knowledge of God then expands to all men and is found in the experience of our unity with his Son. Our knowledge of God the Father depends on how we experience the Son of God. Thus, knowledge becomes experience of God; it becomes love in the Johannine scheme. Doing, leads to knowing, and knowing leads to union with God. The three become a single process that cannot be separated. Jesus talks about this in Jn 14:12-24. Once one does the work of God by loving and keeping the commandments (14:15), a Comforter is sent that we shall get to know for it will abide in us (14:16), then will Christ come to us and we get to know that He is in the Father, and the Father is in Him, and Christ becomes in us (14:20). The activity in the above relationship, originates in the Father and manifests in the Son
The Trinity was apart of creating mankind in their image. Humankind was given work and dominion over all things.
The three statements that summarize the biblical teaching are: God is three persons, each person is fully God, and there is one God (Grudem, 106). The Trinity is revealed to us when Jesus speaks to the disciples and says, “The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name...” (John 14:26). This is a revelation of God in three persons by the Son of God himself (Grudem, 107). Matthew 3:16-17 also shows us that each person is fully God and yet one for example: Jesus is standing there having just been baptized; the Holy Spirit is represented by the dove ascending; and God the Father speaks in a thunderous voice from heaven. We know that they are each distinct yet one, since Isaiah 45:5 God tells us, “I am the Lord, and there
The triune God is encompassed of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God being triune from eternity is proven by the revelations of God inside the ancient times of salvation, which makes it clear that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit have existed, and acted from the earliest starting point. Numerous individuals think that it is hard to accept that Jesus is the unceasing Divine Son who uncovers the trinity, yet from the viewpoint of the New Testament, Apostle Paul pronounces that the Son of God was available when the populace of Israel went through the desert (Corinthians 10:4). The incarnation, demise, and revival of Jesus Christ, and in addition the sending of the Holy Spirit, permit followers to perceive God as triune. Furthermore, the Trinitarian saying, "In the name of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit," does not utilize the plural "names", however the solitary: "the name". In His words to the Apostles, Jesus permitted them to perceive the trinity by expressing that they were to baptize "in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19). When talking about God as "the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit", one does not infer that these are three separate Gods, but instead three persons, who are the One God. The three perfect persons are consistently interrelated and are constantly one. The uniqueness of the three heavenly persons does not break down God 's unity. They are described as a single substance. In them there is no
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (1 John 5:7)
The trinity of God consists of Him being described as three people in one. He is recognized in agreement by revealing Himself by, “Giving grace to you and peace from God our Father…” (Philippians 1:2)3, He grants us hope, “…appearing in the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2:13)3, and we receive the gift of God by him, “…pouring out the Holy Spirit abundantly onto us…” (Titus 3:6)3. The Trinity is a demonstrated example o Christian for them to gain a better understanding of who God is and His relationships with humanity. Although God exposes Himself through three people, our Father is still made up of one essence; three people that share one sole.
