With a shared look, both Gale and Madge agree silently that any further discussion would have to be done somewhere more private. “We’ll be back,” Gale let’s Hazelle know as he ducks in between the trees, Madge right behind him. They don’t speak as they walk, Madge is still blinking sleep out of her eyes, finding it harder than usual to wake herself up. Must be a side effect of the concussion, which vastly healed, still hurts. Gale leads her to a meadow, and Madge’s eyes widen at the peaceful beauty of it. The grass looks vibrant and inviting, with the entire color spectrum sown into the soft ground in the form of springy wildflowers that flutter in the sweet morning air. “Oh,” is all Madge can say as she takes in the scene before her. …show more content…
“You were there. That day with...Thread.” Madge can only nod. “Hell’s teeth,” Gale mutters, running a hand through his already messy hair. “That’s why…” Gale trails off, looking at Madge very closely. “That’s why you brought me the morphling?” Madge looks up to the sky, which is no longer pink and gold, but a soft blue with a fading red. Is this the time, or the place to confess her feelings? And if is she to do that, does she explain it’s more than just an infatuation, that a corner of her mind is always thinking about him since that day he first showed up on her doorstep years ago with Katniss, a scowl and bucket of strawberries the only thing on his person? Does she tell him since that first encounter, she watched him carefully, and learned that beneath that billowing anger, was a boy who loved his family fiercely, and whose gray eyes were tinted with the visionary of a revolutionary? Does she tell him his ache for a different world settled between her bones as well, and that’s why she gave Katniss the pin? Madge shakes her head. This is certainly isn’t the place, despite it’s gorgeous setting, and she isn’t sure if there ever will be a time. Not while his heart still belongs to Katniss. “Gale, you and I, and everyone here have lived under a tyrant’s rule for all of our lives,” Madge says evasively. “Lightning never strikes twice- trying to intimidate everyone with power and fear will only lead to backlash.” “You need to go up there and
Words can influence the mind in many ways that thought may not be able to. They are carefully placed and shared in different ways by each and every individual. Words have powerful impacts and can majorly impact how one may think, feel, or even lead others to feel. Written by Markus Zusak, “The Book Thief” describes a story of an innocent foster girl, Liesel Meminger, who resides in Munich, Germany at one of the most troubling time periods in history, Nazi Germany. A tale narrated by the one and only Death himself, shows the perspective from his point of view, as well as others, describing how Liesel had been seized away from her birth mother at a young age, and put into a foster family. Her new family, the Hubermanns. As she matures and grows into a more critical thinker, understanding and analyzing everything that carefully happens around her. Her foster-father, Hans guides her and teaches her how to read, which little does she know sparks her journey, the art of stealing books. Liesel soon discovers that words aren 't simply lines on a page, they are strong emotions packed into a form that merely is held in her delicate hands. Not only did she hold the pages of emotion, she held a power, a dangerous weapon of words, a weapon of control, and every book that she had stolen was giving her unimaginable power that made her think in ways that she would’ve never thought she could have. As with Nazi propaganda, and a gift that enabled her to broaden her worldview. Liesel evolves
"I haven't seen him yet," Delia says turning to face me. "Well don't you look gorgeous."
In The Thief, the main character named Gen is in prison for a good reason. He was sent to jail because he stole the King’s Seal, and a wine seller who worked for the King in secret reported him. At first, Gen plans to find a way to escape out of jail (he is a professional thief), but every day he still finds himself chained and locked up with no way for escape. Later in the story, Gen is taken out of prison because the King’s magus (The King’s advisor) needs to steal something for the benefit of the King. Because Gen has been known to be the best thief in the world and has also been known to steal anything, he is taken out his cell and has to follow the Magus on a quest along with three other people, named Sophos, Pol, and Ambiades. Chapter 3: Even as Katniss is being ripped away from her family she does what she can to try to keep it together. She has sacrificed herself for their sake, and wants to make sure that they survive without her. Katniss promises that she'll try to win for Prim. Love motivates her. Katniss is touched because the baker promises to keep an eye on Prim. He also hands her cookies. Katniss continues to discover that she’s made more connections in District 12 than she realized. Madge, for example, seems to think of Katniss as her friend, despite their class differences.Although Gale and Katniss have never acknowledged how close they are before, the fact that they now have limited time together pushes them to drop some of their pretenses. Katniss is
"We don't know but they know that if they break the treaty we have the right to attack and end them." Sam said in a deathly calm that left no doubt of his rank as alpha of the pack.
"Hey, Toriel, I just remembered," Gon drew out. "You never told us anything about the Ruins." Gon raised his arm, his finger pointing at the hollowed out exit past the black tree. "There's more out there past this, right?"
“It’ll be alright,” I said soothingly. Gemma's face was grave, but she nodded and followed after me.
Hyacinth reached out and placed her right hand onto Sophia’s forehead. “You still have a bit of a fever… I’ll have to ask that you stay in here until your temperature returns to normal...” she murmured, and lifted the front of Sophia’s shirt with her other hand, much to Sophia’s surprise.
She shot him another look before stalking off into the shrubs, not looking back to see if anyone was following her, Mike had a thoughtful look on his face as he watched her before turning back to the three boys. “Come on guys” he sighed heavily “long walk ahead”
“Sounds like a perfect idea Eva. And if we find any other notes, we must shout the other's name immediately so we can look at it together, do you understand.”
“Meg, how do you feel about what happened? Did you see his face? Did you know where he was going to take you? Where did he take you? Do you know why
“I will,” Gale spits, shoving the covers off his naked body. “I clearly misjudged who you are.”
I was most interested in Lui’s work about online reading and the necessity of having a complex and detailed definition of that kind of reading. I suppose since there is so much more online than just reading that reading has mutated into something quite different than it was when we did our reading primarily in print. There were no hyperlinks, immediately accessible related reading, the ability to contribute and read comments, the ability to save and pass on the reading itself. The material text is extremely limited in what we can do with it. We can basically read it and write on it. Depending on our purpose with the text, that may be all we need to do with. A 20-page academic article is difficult to read on a screen, our ability to

"I have an idea about where to look for the cemetery," Nate told them. "You guys want to see? It's not too far from where I met Hajji." He stepped out of the alcove and closed the cupboard behind Hannah and Will. "Except we should probably take some mace or something this time, just in case we see another bear."
