Coming from a Jesuit high school, I know how incredible Jesuit education is. It treats students as more than their test scores and GPA's and educates them as a whole person, mind body and soul. My primary goal in life is to fulfill the purpose for which God put me on this earth. I believe Boston College can most certainly help me accomplish this with a well-balanced education in academics, morality, as well as the professional networking through the people I meet. As I learned in my Morality course, humans were created to praise, reverence, and serve God. There are perhaps infinite ways to serve God as anything that causes myself or others true, righteous joy fulfills our purpose as humans. With the help of Boston College, I can further
Christendom College offers many compelling reasons that have increased my desire to attend this great school. Some of the things that I love about my high school are found at Christendom, such as its challenging, Classical curriculum. I simply loved the classes I was able to attend at the Summer Program and found that I felt at home in those lectures, which were deeply rooted in our Catholic faith. The lectures helped us examine their relevance in our own lives and encouraged us to always seek the truth. I observed that this inspired the whole class to consider the situations and messages in the themes we discuss in class, such as the value of friendship or how history shapes our identity.
For most of high school, whether I should study business or engineering muddled my college search. I have always had the people skills of a successful salesman or businessman; however, I also understand the importance of learning a technical skill in one’s professional success. I finally chose the engineering school at Texas A&M because, among other factors, the challenge of learning the upper level math and science required to earn a degree here piqued my interest.
I wish to attend Texas A&M because the academics and atmosphere promise superlative growth for me during my college education. Because I intend to pursue a career in business, I see the Mays School of Business as the epitome of education. Focused on a business environment that is full of constant change and evolving technical resources, Texas A&M would give me the confidence that I am receiving the most forward-focused business education. Texas A&M provides an atmosphere that would allow my personality to thrive. The campus spirit brings a sense of community and belonging. While walking on campus during visits, I recognize a warm, joyful and welcoming atmosphere that I could call home. The robust loyalty to the University and fellow
When I began to look at colleges, Georgetown University immediately stood out. I want a values-based education, not just a knowledge-based education. I want to attend Georgetown University because it will give me the knowledge I need to help others, but will also provide the Catholic perspective that my upbringing has given me. As stated by the prompt, the McDonough School of Business prides
As I felt the snow crunch beneath my boots and snowflakes melt on my face, I was somehow not shivering. In fact, I wasn’t cold in the slightest. It was almost as if my freshly initiated love for Boston College warmed me from the inside out. From the moment I stepped foot on campus on that brisk February day, I knew that Boston College was where I belonged. After completing my tour and participating in an information session, I realized that, through its strong Jesuit education, Boston College would offer innumerable opportunities for me to grow both personally and intellectually.
Earning my undergraduate degree from Seattle University has opened a lot of doors and has expanded my ability to reflect on my life, my intellectual progress and my purpose to find direction. My persistence and determination to advance my education is to increase my knowledge, to become a successful leader and to enhance my contribution to society. In order for me to have a true academic rigor, I believe having the integrity of the Jesuit teaching could help me understand and guide me through the process. I have always found a personal and a professional sense of purpose from a Jesuit tradition.
At Fordham University, I can major in both Political Science and International Studies which will allow me with more opportunities due to the university’s close proximity to New York City and the United Nations. Secondarily, Fordham University fits me better as a person being a Jesuit, Catholic university. Since the age of three, the Saint Dominic schools instilled a strong Catholic faith in me from attending first Friday masses, singing in the school choir at masses, partaking in community service projects, and being a Eucharistic Minister. My faith is important to me and at Fordham I can be open about my faith thanks to its strong Jesuit, Catholic community. My goals in life drive me to transfer to Fordham University where I can better serve my community and be the person I want to be.In the future, I desire to work for either the United States Department of State or in the United Nations to help promote international co-operation within the international community. Transferring to Fordham University will allow be to be better prepared for the world we live in and help me achieve my goals of working in the dynamic world we live
Attending graduate school can be is one of the most significant times of a person’s life. It is a time when God will begin revealing to you who he has called you to be. I believe that God has developed each person with innate skills and abilities. I believe that Christian based education and training will cultivate Gods calling for me, in and outside of the classroom. Attending a Christian based school
Christian colleges not only support students to become professionals, but they also drive them to grow in their faith. Professors teach us to honor God in all we do, just
To start, the high school that I am currently attending is founded upon the same Christian core values as Union University, so I already have a basic understanding of what Christian education looks like. My high school has played a pivotal role in shaping my beliefs and my actions in response to those beliefs. It is for this reason I can be confident that the four years I will spend at Union will be a positive influence on my educational experience. I am also confident that studying at Union will foster growth in my personal relationship with Jesus Christ. While I am sure there are many other Christian colleges that are founded on the same core values as Union, it is unique in the ways it would inspire me to achieve academic excellence, while
I came to see business as my passion because of its diversity, as an entrepreneur you have the ability to make whatever you want out of your skill set, experience, and passion. I have looked at schools that have business programs among other options and liked the diversity but found myself concerned about the school's dedication the subject I wanted to devote the rest of my life to. Babson College’s dedication to entrepreneurship is something I never worry will falter. Babson is a college built on harnessing diversity to create in a competitive yet supportive community meticulously designed to support and challenge its students. This community is both welcoming and inspiring, and a place I want to call home.
I find Boston College's tremendous course offerings and suitable Core Curriculum, along with the ability to learn in small classes and be able to conduct research with world-renowned and dedicated professors appealing. Classroom resources at Boston College, furthermore, move beyond the traditional PowerPoint slides, as museums, theaters, and galleries are readily available. The outgoing nature of the students, the beautiful facilities, and the general atmosphere all make BC a college that I would thoroughly enjoy my time
An important piece of a college education is educating leaders of competence. I find it incredibly important for students to come out of college with not just an academic education, but a well rounded education. Students should know how to apply what they have learned to the real world. By training leaders of competence, Christian colleges are doing society a favor. We need more leaders who are knowledgable and willing to stand up for what he or she believes in. I am also attracted to the cultivation of knowledge and faith to build a more humane society. By allowing students to grow more knowledgable they become much less ignorant on important issues that face our society. By lessening ignorance, we can make much more progress in much more efficient ways.
As an incoming computer science freshman that values community service, I know Texas A&M would be the perfect place for me. Academically, it’s one of the top universities in the nation for engineering, including computer science. Considering that engineering is best learned through hands-on experiences, the research opportunities and internships at A&M form the best environment to increase my understanding of my major. But going further than academics, the university itself has a welcoming atmosphere and a commitment to community service through AggieServe and other groups. This is one of the reasons I want to attend A&M as I can take everything I have learned in high school and from leading my school's volunteer group to continue to help
What motivates me to go to college,to put hard work in,day after day, and to achieve my goals in higher education is my parents and myself. Since I started elementary school my parents have always motivated me to go to college. I was always a good student, but, when I had entered seventh grade, it all changed. I really did not care about school, i have been just whatever about school period. Then it hit me again in my junior year of high school. Freshman and sophomore I was not really interested in school and didn 't think I was going to college. My parents had a talk with me and that talk changed me. They were just asking me what am I going to do with my life if I didn 't go on with school and all this other stuff that made me think really hard. I didn 't want to make my parents think that their son was a failure, they raised a failure. I changed my ways and started doing better in school and now I am currently attending Cal State University of Los Angeles. Now they are more proud than ever, me being the first one in my family to attend a university. My parents will always be my biggest motivators.
