As someone who has lived outside of Boston my entire life, I am grateful for the curious and intellectual spirit of the city, and I love how Boston University embodies these qualities. BU is a fantastic university where I could completely pursue all of my passions, especially history. History is one of the most important subjects; we must learn and grow from the lessons of the past. My medieval history teacher studied and taught at BU, and he has only wonderful things to say. I am excited to continue learning in a school that values history for all professions, not just teaching, and for how crucial understanding history is in our current society.
It has always been a dream of mine to live in London. The city has so much depth and such an
Framingham State University will prepare me for a productive life, enhance my learning and enhance my current leadership skills, intern this will contribute to my future once I graduate. An opportunity of this caliber would launch my learning and continue to ignite my passion for learning. It is without a doubt, attending Rutgers University brings prestige to your name, and distinguishes you from the competition. With over two hundred and fifty years of rich history, Rutgers has been proudly represented by alumni as they continue into their career paths. Dating back to 1766 when Rutgers was first established, notable Rutgers alumni through the years have ranged from politicians such as Elizabeth Warren or Chris Christie to businessmen like David Stern, or even athletes such as Carli Lloyd. It is without a doubt, that Rutgers provides exceptional education as seen through what these alumni have been able to achieve. It is due to the combination of history and high level of education that I believe will help me achieve my career goals.
The University of North Carolina Wilmington gives a welcoming and home-like feeling to all who attend. Once I step foot on campus, it reminds me of the privilege I have of staying home. It has always been the college I've wanted to attend. The small and diverse community is what keeps me here in Wilmington, North Carolina and UNCW fulfills my dreams of not leaving. I find the mixture of races and gender to be essential in a community or school. It defines a person including their culture and allows everyone to be different from one another. It proves that we can all get along and work together to create greater changes as a whole; UNCW has that variety. However, not only does the diverse environment attract me, but so does the beautiful campus.
Before I answer the questions posed, I believe an explanation is owed regarding this request for admission into Saybrook. I originally applied to The Chicago School of Professional Psychology seeking a degree in business psychology. Since the program was not ready to start for another year, it was suggested that I take courses in the international psychology program. I thoroughly enjoyed this new experience with an opportunity to “think global”. I optioned to remain in this program with a concentration in organizations and systems. As I sojourned through, I was always aware that there was still something missing. Although I loved being part of the IP program, my roots are deeply entrenched in the world of organizational development (OD).
I am writing to appeal my academic probation at Pierce College Puyallup to further my education. Although i am not surprised i am on the dismissal list since i recognize that my grades fell behind and stayed behind during my 3 first quarters at the campus. Although my grades were low i would like to humbly urge you to reinstate me for further quarters.
As a current student at Brazosport College, I am extremely honored to be nominated for the 2017 Distinguished Student Award. I will be graduating in May of 2017, and I can proudly say that completing my first two years at Brazosport College have been an amazing start to my higher educational career.
Coming from a small town on the east coast, I would have never expected to fall in love with such a large and diverse college like the University of Michigan. The upbeat atmosphere of Ann Arbor alone was enticing enough before I even saw the actual campus. Upon visiting, I quickly realized the University of Michigan was a place I would not mind spending my next couple of years. From the countless students all around to the wide variety of shops in town, Ann Arbor seemed like a lively and exciting place to spend my college experience. While walking through the campus, I was continuously amazed by the large intricate buildings surrounding me. Some of my favorites included the Law Library, the College of LSA and the Michigan Union. While I do not plan on attending it, the Ross School of Business was also an incredible
Through my undergraduate studies in fine and performing arts at James Madison University and my professional theatre experiences, I have built a foundation as a theatre practitioner that includes analyzing scripts, and communicating through drawing and drafting, and have taken advantage of as many opportunities as possible. By attending the Yale School of Drama Graduate Design Program, I will develop my process for formulating ideas and gain more specialized knowledge in scenic design.
Since the 8th grade, I’ve known I wanted to be a student at Howard University. Howard University has cleared every major specification that I so very looked for in school in a way no other school could ever. From the moment I stepped on campus the beginning of my junior year, I knew this was the place that I would be able to thrive and inherently become a better “Me”. Howard exudes a certain liveliness that attracts me… Whether it’s the prestige and notably, the mass opportunities presented to all of its students, or the noticeable ambition that exude off each student; I Matthew Smith want to be part of it.
At my graduate assistantship at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), the graduate students from Monmouth were introduced to a few of the key offices that work with Residential Education and Housing. Through this introduction, I was able to meet Kelly Hennessy, who is the current Associate Dean of Students in the Department of Health and Wellness at The College of New Jersey. As a future Student Affairs professional, one of my end goals would ultimately become a Dean of Students, so it was exciting to interview Hennessy and see how she got to where she is today. Originally when Hennessy first started her college years, she thought that she wanted to be a teacher. After working with the professionals in her Residence Life Office and Leadership Office at the University of Buffalo, where she received both her bachelors and master’s degrees, she realized that her passion was no longer teaching, but rather to become the professionals she was surrounded and inspired by every day. Hennessy has worked in Residence Life for majority of her career up to about two years ago when the Department of Health and Wellness first started on TCNJ’s campus.

During my senior year of high school, my paternal grandmother was very ill with cancer. My paternal grandmother would always talk about how happy she would be if I went to UC Davis for my bachelor's degree. She mentioned my older brother’s dream school as a great school for my passions. With her health declining, I decided to fulfil one of her biggest hope and dreams. My grandmother passed away in the summer of 2016 and I knew she would be able to pass on to the afterlife happy, knowing her grandchildren are going to achieve at their highest potential in the future. Although I am grateful for my own achievements, support from my family and where it has taken me, UC Davis was not truly the place I want to be. I truly wanted to attend a school
In the heart of Boston it has many major historical monuments and buildings to give it even more to offer as a city. It has its very own
Out of all of the skin care products in the world, your bathroom cabinet needs to be filled with products researched and designed by me. When I entered high school, I discovered my passion for selecting lip sticks, lip glosses, lotions, perfumes, and makeup foundations. You name it. After learning about the connections between the information in my chemistry class and these items, a light bulb went off! I maintained an A average in chemistry throughout the whole year! Additionally, in 2014, I became a student in the Academy of Engineering and Technology, which also heightened my interests in chemistry. In a science fair at that academy, there was a chemistry course where we made colorful slime, and during that process, I learned that I get an adrenaline rush when I am mixing different chemicals together to see what the outcome is. Majoring in chemistry at Norfolk State University will definitely prepare me for a very successful future in chemistry! My ultimate goal is to conduct research and development for chemical cosmetics. I plan to obtain employment at the greatest companies in the world such as L'Oréal and Avon.
Situational Awareness is knowing and being alert to what’s going on around you; in your daily life, your neighborhood, your state, your country and in the world. Whether it is politics, the economy, or the weather, all of the events of today could be the spark that ignites a serious disaster on a personal, local or global scale tomorrow. Situational awareness is essential, especially when you realize that you really only have yourself to depend on.
