On Friday November 6th, I attended a public concert named “The Boy Band Review feat” performed by The Hot Sauce Committee. The Hot Sauce Committee is a boy band group consists of five members, this band mainly performs cover songs back from the 90’s, and Chicago is the origin of this band. The music genre of the Hot Sauce Committee belongs to hip hop music, alternative rock, alternative hip hop and post-punk. The concert was located in 329 N. Dearborn St, Chicago, IL 60654, which is the House of Blues.

I arrived the House of Blues at around 8:30pm, as the concert was supposed to start at 9pm. After I showed the ticket to the staff, I had to head upstairs in order to arrive the stage. Since it was my first time attending a concert at The House …show more content…

In order to give each other support, I noticed that the band members gave each other eye contacts occasionally; the two electric guitarists even fist bump each other to show encouragement. This was how the band members interacted with one another. During their performance, I saw that two members were playing the electronic guitar and it belongs to the String Family (Chordophones) among the five instrument families. Besides, there was also a drummer playing the drum kit behind the singers. This belongs to the Membranophones category. Some words to describe the timbre (tone color) of the electronic guitar include bassy, thick, deep, loud and sharp because we could clearly hear the sound of the electric guitar even though the environment was pretty noisy. Words to describe the timbre of the drum kit include full, I think these are some nice adjectives to describe this band because they are full of energy and provide audiences with lots of positive vibes through their voices and …show more content…

Besides, they also held their hands high up in the air. I could tell that they were enjoying themselves a lot, with a cup of drink holding in their hand. When the main vocalist started to sing slow tempo songs “As long as I love you” and “I want it that way” by the Backstreet Boys, everybody began to sing along with the band loudly and cheerfully. These two songs were really famous love songs back in the 90’s; therefore, most of the audiences were able to follow along. The main vocalist interacted with the audiences by facing his microphone to everybody, so both the audiences and performers were able to enjoy the moment together.
