I think Brady could be my best friend. Brady could possibly be my best friend because he is very magnanimous. Brady is shown to be very magnanimous on page 239 through this interaction with his mother "I don't know if it will cost a million, Mom," he said, talking fast. "but it's going to cost a lot, and Abby's dad lost his health insurance and… And I don't care, as long as Abby can see again." This segment of the book displays Brady as magnanimous because the money that he won with the million dollar throw he decides to give to someone else, which I value very much in a friend. I think the main sending this now would be in Brady's house. This is not an ideal setting because there is high stress and tension is running through the house. I would not visit his house because there is nothing exciting there. On page 41 the text shows the tension in Brady's household between his parents because of money "do you think he doesn't understand what's going on around here? Do you think the boy doesn't see what's going on around here? Do you think the …show more content…
The conflict is resolved by Nate making the throw. Nate resolving the conflict impacts other characters because some of the money goes towards helping his friend Abby who is blind, see again; and the rest of the money goes towards his family for helping to pay for the house. On page 240 Nate's Mom says "We're going to be fine. How could we not be?" When is mom says that she's talking about how when meet me at the thrill they could afford the house. A song that could describe the main conflict is anxiety by the Black eyed peas ft Papa Roach. The song is related to the main conflict because the song talks about anxiety which is what Nate the main character is going through. One of the lyrics from this song is "shackled and chained my soul feels strained." These lyrics describe how Nate is

The novel, Million Dollar Throw, written by Mike Lupica includes various different characters and personalities. However, a character from the novel that could be considered a best friend is Nate Brodie. Nate could be a best friend, because he put his best friend’s needs before his. To further elaborate, Nate’s family was in dire need of money to keep from losing their home. However,Nate gave Abby a large sum of money to allow her to keep her eyesight, since she was becoming blind. A character trait that can be used to describe Nate is altruistic. Nate exhibits
Self” is present. The problem is that there is a lot of pressure on Nate to make the throw. The reason that there is so much pressure surrounding the throw is because Nate’s family needs it the most. It’s too much pressure for Nate when he realizes that it is affecting him mentally, and also physically. Nate eventually loses his starting spot on his football team due to his poor performances. This is soon solved when all the pressure goes away once Nate makes the throw. Also, it is solved by the love and support from his family and friends. On page 242, it talks about the last moments of his championship game. “He thought of Tom Brady on the field at Gillette, telling him how nobody thought he could do it in that first super bowl, when he was the same as a raw rookie. Maybe people thought of me as the same this season, Nate thought”. The song “Under Pressure” by Queen means that pressure could really hurt a person, but love will always the answer out of it. This is Man Vs. Self just like Nate, in the sense that he is going to be under pressure thus causing him to be worse and worse in football. But like in the song, the problem is solved by love, and in this case the love and support from his family and

The main conflict in this novel is whether it’s better to live your life to the fullest extent, follow your choices and risk death or to live in a safe bubble and never leave your house. Smart and spirited, Maddy Whittier demonstrates this conflict in the following quote: “They tried to stop me. They said it wasn’t worth my life, but I said that it was my life, and it was up to me to decide what it was worth. I said I was going to go and either I was going to die or I was going to get a better life.” Maddy’s choice to follow her heart and expose herself to risk strengthens her character.
The author’s use of conflict throughout the novel has a great impact on the reader. The conflict pertains to many topics and themes that appeal to the intended audience (young adult). One very effective way in which the author uses and integrates the conflict in the story is through language. The author portrays the conflict in a very modern and humorous language. This makes the reader more engaged and relatable to the text.

Nick is able to see both the materialism and nature without bias. The light makes it seem as though, “my house was on fire” (Fitzgerald 81; ch. 5). Conflict can be especially seen more towards the end of the short story when they encounter the misfit. The type of conflict that occurs during the encounter can be deducted to be man versus man and man versus self. Man vs. man is seen through the struggle between the family's decision on where to have their vacation. This same type of conflict is also be seen with the family's confrontation with the misfit. When the grandmother meets the misfit after the family crashes, she is trying to beg for her life to try to appeal to his morals, ultimately to try to convince him not to kill her .
Second, there is a person vs. person conflict between Rex Walls and Rose Mary. Throughout the book, the couple argues about Rex’s alcoholism and Rose Mary’s poor financial decisions. These conflicts are usually screaming fights, which can sometimes lead to dangerous situations. In an argument about borrowing money from Rose Mary’s mom,
Teddy would be nothing without me, he used to be a shy kid with family issues that nobody gave a crap about. Till I came around and cracked opened his shell. Now the ladies are throwing themselves at him and yet he still would give all that up for a nobody like April. To be honest he’s lucky to have me in his live or else who knows where he would be without me being the supportive I am.

Because of the nonpayment of interest due on this loan, the bank is now negotiating with the borrower to exchange the loan for Brady bonds. The Brady bonds that would be issued would be either par bonds or discount bonds with the same time to maturity.
