Branches Of Government

Decent Essays

In the government, there are three main branches. These branches are known as executive, legislative, and judicial. The three branches were created to divide power in the federal government. The reasoning for the division of power is so that not one group or person would have too much power. “The delegates were afraid that if a small group received too much power, the United States would wind up under the rule of another dictator or tyrant” (Kids.gov A Safe Place to Learn and Play, 2017). Each branch has a unique job, and there are different heads of a branch. Meaning each branch is ran by a different group of people. The executive branch of government gets to carry out laws. This is true each of the branches have different aspects they can change. The President, who is one of the key roles in the executive branch, can veto laws passed by Congress. Instances like this make people worry about who they have running their country. This government shut down caused so many issues within our economy. “As the President has said, the shutdown that occurred last month inflicted completely unnecessary damage on our economy and took a toll on families and businesses across the country” (Burwell, 2013). If the government had a better system of handling situations like this they would not of put so many people through such a difficult time.
In conclusion, the government has a lot of complicated twist and turns. It has so many roles that must be played, and so many people that have to play them. Though it works in a lot of ways, it is not always a well-oiled machine. There can be many disagreements and tension passed through out the government, but occurrences like this happen between people who are not in charge of our country. So, it can be expected, but our government should have a smoother way to handle these situations. That way if anything dramatic did occur
