It’s easier to brave if you don’t know how dangerous a situation is, Bruno shows this in the fable, “Boy in the striped Pajamas.” By John Boyne. This story shows that Bruno ,a nine year old boy, was brave but he could be cowardly sometimes. An example would be when he gave Shmuel food and talked to him. Then when the officer asked him if he knew Shmuel he denied it. Which showed him being cowardly.

Euripides' Medea Medea is the tragic tale of a woman scorned. It was written in 431 B.C. by the Greek playwright, Euripides. They're afraid of nothing.” (Paley) By using the words brave and tough, Paley conveys to the reader what characteristics Samuel and his friend esteem and desire to possess. She goes on to say, “They are the ones who climb a wall and take a bow at the top. Not only are they brave on the roof, but they create plenty of noise in the darkest part of the cellar where even the super hates to go. They also jiggle and hop on the platform between the locked doors of the subway cars.” (Paley) Additionally, by connecting the words brave and tough, Paley gives the reader an idea of Samuel and his friends mindset that day. The language that Paley uses makes the reader question if their goal in jumping on the train was an opportunity to be brave in a way that was attainable to them.

Bravery is the ability to face danger, fear or pain. Bravery is the quality of a person who displays courage and fearlessness in the face of danger. Such qualities show splendor and magnificence in a person. Fear and terror sometimes hinder the determination someone can show. Overcoming this fear is what portrays bravery.
