I don't set out to produce art about one subject or another. I'm never without a sketchbook in hand so I am constantly drawing. Sometimes the drawings are left in the sketchbook and other times they develop into more in-depth ideas and detailed images. There is never any sentimental or emotional attachment to my work nor do I like to spend too much time on one particular piece. Rather, art- Like a good lover arouses me, so I do it. I never look at objects for what they are. Instead, I look at them for what they can be. The day I see an object for what it is and not for its potential to be something else, I shall take a step back from art altogether (Get over it, Micah). This perspective often leads to attempts of breaking boundaries in my …show more content…
This, in relation to my art, holds the truest form. I seldom allow others or objects to influence me or my work to such a degree that it becomes molded into a particular concentration. In fact, I do not believe in "original" ideas. As artist, we find inspiration everywhere-it almost comes to us. So it comes almost without a realization that artistic "ideas" are linked to our surroundings and influences. According to the book "Art Instinct" by Denis Dutton, "art is a natural instinct in humans- an art Instinct". This comes in hand with our five senses. Our motives and inspiration for work produced are from what we see, feel, hear, touch, perhaps even taste. Thus having an art instinct creates a sixth sense that enables not only an artist but all people to apply these natural bases and form art. In the book, Dutton provides an example using architecture. Despite that architecture being part of an "evolutionary adaptation that, in Darwinian terms, are necessities for the survival and development of humans", its soul incentive comes from "natural landforms". In other words, ideas of design for architecture didn't just pop into someone's head, it was inspired by natures surrounding. Take also, for example, Antonio Gaudi's "Casa Mila"- an apartment that was constructed to look like clay. Or the Great Temple in Madurai, India that holds stucco sculptures representing the vast pantheon of Hindu
The thought of art is more than what you see it is what you feel and what you learn from looking at it. Art can heal the soul and create and new outlook on images we may see every day. Sadly, we may not always see the art in things, pieces, or, humans.
I believe expressing one’s self through art soothes the mind and helps relieve built-up
“Architecture should not be seen as representing a magical transition from the worldly to the heavenly, as had been implied by the Baroque Style, but rather as a medium that told nothing less than the story of the “origins” of mankind.” (Ching 610)
Breaking News Today on Fox4, I will be discussing the New Open Carry Law that went into effect in Texas on Jan.1,2016.Rape, protection, and kidnapping are all good reasons for carrying a gun openly because if something bad happens, you'll be able to protect yourself. Open Carry is a good law because without that you wouldn't be able to protect yourself. Do you feel safe walking the streets? If not, you should get a gun. On Jan.1,2016, the state of Texas, passed an Open Carry Law. If you're wondering what the Open Carry Law is, it's when people are allowed to openly carry a handgun in a hip or shoulder holster. People don't need to conceal a gun like they did in the past. In
Art is a very important factor in all aspects of life. For many centuries art has been present in structures, cultures, religions, and even in the basic things we see in our daily routines. Art can come in a variety of ways, such as: paintings, drawings, symbols, sculptures, images, and much more. We all interpret and create art and artwork depending on our background experiences and knowledge along with how we can connect with the art piece.
When people create art, it does not only have to be drawing or painting, it can be acting, dancing, music, or writing. When artists create art they have a purpose for example, it can reflect on their surroundings or what they are feeling. Some key components that artists need to achieve great art is having knowledge and empathy.
Art has always been the highest expression of my thoughts, emotions, and opinions. I live,
While leafing through Julia Cameron 's "Artist 's Way," I always find myself thinking back to the first time the night pages came to me. It wasn 't one of those "It was a dark and stormy night" type of ideas, but I decided, "Why just write in the morning when I can do it at night?" Let me explain: In Julia Cameron 's "The Artist 's Way" you do a lot of things that are intended to inspire your creativity, foremost being getting up a bit earlier in the morning and writing out three pages. It can be called a journal, but mine was always much different than a journal. I tended to skip ahead in the writing of it, reminiscing on things that had happened to me in the past, and ideas for stories. I would also repeat myself constantly just to fill up those darn pages. A writer will need discipline, and Julia Cameron taught me to find it within myself. There was no great novel on the backburner - writing was a hard profession. But back to the discussion; the night pages idea came to me because getting up earlier in the morning can be hard for some. The purpose of it is to inspire creativity, but who can be creative that early in the morning? I found that I got most of my ideas running around at night anyways. So I began to write, and I stopped repeating myself. I found the night pages made me a different writer. It still can be hard for a writer to continue to write at night; you just might be tired then, too. Yet writing at night can be very productive; I found ideas for novels

The book Art and Fear by David Bayles and Ted Orland is simply put a guide to your own art. According to the authors’ art is not easy. We as humans make art hard and we assume certain beliefs that just are not true. These beliefs get in the way of making our art. They can lead artists to quitting and stopping when the goals are reached; never going beyond their dreams. People begin to fear not only the process of art, but the repercussions of art itself. We fear that what we envision is not what we make. The imagination and potential of a piece dwindles as the work progresses. Bayles and Orland say that material is constant; it is molded by our own hands and imagination. These materials are controlled by us and should have room for the endless
According to Mandel, art reminds us that we’re human. It is a subconscious human instinct, even “in the midst of catastrophe” (Knopf).
Conceptual artists have become less interested in making beautiful artworks that value the aesthetic, preferring instead to use the process of art to explore ideas and challenge beliefs, whether artistic or political. Over time, this has distorted the definition of what art is considered to be as it constantly being changed and simplified. The continual redefinition of art has been perpetuated by artists who continually challenge what is socially and culturally acceptable as in order to test and widen existing boundaries. As arguments continue to arise over whether art that pushes boundaries is acceptable, many artists have been heavily criticized for their explicit and frequently confrontational portrayal of
Art is personal; an expression of inner thoughts and desires, affecting the way I not only see the world but myself. In order for a person to grow they must know who they are, their aspirations, the true nature of their thoughts, and their actuality of their persona; the physicality of art has given me this knowledge. With practicing in the arts I am able to grow as a person and I am able to see that growth within me. For with the expression of creativity, comes an outlet, an outlet of the unconscious, forming and showing the reality of the mind. This outlet releases internal emotions and helps me to find tranquility within myself. This state of mind is a supplement for my own personal problems. Also, I am able to create new ideas, ones that help me see the world in a new light. I am able to form a relaxing and mesmerizing state of mind, one that leaves me fascinated with the world around me, along with a deep love for simplicity. Visual arts have truly given me an insight on my own mind and happiness in my life. This is why I full-heartedly believe and practice in the arts, to find peace of mind, not in the world, but in myself.
The most important trait in defining art is its beauty. As complex as the term “art” can be, the term “beauty” is nearly just as complicated. In order to understand art more clearly it is important to understand beauty. “We label an object beautiful because it promotes an internal harmony or ‘free play’ of our mental faculties; we call something ‘beautiful’ when it elicits this pleasure.” (Freeland 8). As defined above, beauty is not a direct message. It is something that subconsciously allows man to feel good and pleasurable. There is “an internal harmony” when we observe something beautiful that allows us to take away a deeper understanding of a work of art regardless of it being “nice looking” or “ugly”.
The history of art dates back to ancient times. Artwork can be, and was, found around the world. What makes art interesting is that it can be created in any way, shape or form with any materials. It seems that the artwork can also tell us a lot about the artist. Art seems to be simply, a direct, visual reflection of the artist’s life. Therefore, one can assume that an artist’s life experiences and beliefs directly influence their art. If we look at examples from different periods of art we will be able to see the connection between the artist and the art.
