When Rowena is faced with the choice between marrying a monster or marrying a complete stranger, her decision takes her far away from the only home she has ever known and puts her right in the path of a dangerous pair of siblings that will stop at nothing to take the priceless treasure they are certain her new husband is hiding.
Having read all three books in this series and loved every one of them I almost feel disloyal picking a favorite. However, if I am being honest, this is would be it!
Roseanna M. White has made it to my favorites list. Not only does she have a beautiful writing style, her characters are deep and have so many layers! Characters whom you think perfect at the beginning slowly reveal their flaws. Characters whom you think broken and fragile turn out to have strengths they didn't know they had.

Though neither one of them sought out the relationship, once it was decided, they approached it from the perspective that they would make it work. What I loved, even more, was the fact that there was SOOO much to work through.
I enjoyed watching Rowena's transition from broken and frightened to confident and strong. Brice started out as a strong character, but through his relationship with Rowena, we are able to see his flaws, as well as his beautiful compassionate heart. Both characters were interesting and quirky in their own ways. Brice has a fun, flirty personality that takes people off their guard, but he is also super insightful and always watching others. Rowena feels everything very deeply and is protective of herself emotionally. However, she also has a curiosity about people that makes her want to understand them. She complements Brice in this skill because she notices things he doesn't.
If you enjoyed The Lost Heiress, you will love The Reluctant Duchess. Readers will enjoy seeing their favorite characters from the previous book and getting to know other characters even
The Emperor of Nihon-Ja was really special to me,because it was more about Horace and how he bonds with the Emperor of Nihon-Ja and the emperor teaches him the ways of Nihon-Ja. Every book in the Ranger's apprentice series is extremely good and it is my new favorite series of all time. It as the first time Horace went on a military mission alone. This is the first book that Evanlyn openly admitted that she loves Horace and how the happy couple finally are gonna get married, I hope. A lot of things were a first in this
When Torvald finds her hairpin stuck in the keyhole of the letter box, Nora tells him it must have been their children trying to get into it, not willing to admit that she had tried to break into his things. Although the truth about her is about to be discovered, Nora wants to preserve the last bits of dignity that she has left, finally worrying about herself before anyone else. This last lie however, leads up to her finally speaking the truth and expressing that she no longer feels that she loves Torvald. Her husband is furious at her, insulting her, and fails to see that every lie that she told was for his sake. Realizing that Torvald can’t see her side of things and will only find fault in what she did, she comes to her decision to leave her family. Nora states that she is not happy and never really was, her marriage to Torvald was as fakes as a doll house according to her. Rather than lie, she is completely honest now and states that she wants to become her own person and learn that which she doesn’t know despite what society might think.
I don't really have a reason why she is my favorite character, but ever since the 4th grade when I first read this book there was ,just something about Mae that made me wants to know more about this

“That’s why they were only taking a few things at a time; they weren 't really coming for ivory and paintings. They wanted me!” Even when she wasn’t in her room she was always afraid of something. “I always dreaded that my parents would divorce. It was my third biggest fear, right next to the fear that one of them would get abducted by heartmen on the road to Sugar Beach, or my first fear, that I would get sucked into the lagoon by neegee.” Out of all three fears only one seemed to happen. Her parents relationship finally came to an end after a lot of fighting, disagreement, and cheating. “Daddy, I hold your foot, don’t leave us. Daddy, please, I beg you” she cried that day. From then on, except the servants and cook, “it was only women at Sugar Beach.” Even after dealing with something so hard in her life that wasn’t even what affected her the most.

Especially because the author and the way she writes is so amazing. One thing that the author did well was Imagery. The way Katie Alender let you really see into Willa's mind, house, and world really was helpful. She gives great descriptive words and great analogies, so that you can really understand the way Willa's feeling. Another thing she does well is the structure of her story. The structure of her story is like a basic mystery but with a twist. The story escalates throughout but you also get to experience some of Willa's personal life. And in the end the whole story comes together and makes scenes with each
From Opon's class there was talk about doing some kind of language support for Brenna Daughtery (very low in language usage and at data mtg. Bridget suggested support in Language) and she can fit in for me to work with her from 11:00-11:30. I would have to find grammar, writing, etc. types of things to work with her, I think. Possibly
