2. Considering the model of the church that you studied during the last face to face session, which biblical image/s correspond/s to it?
And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. (Hosea 2:19)
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (Gen. 2:24
I will answer this question based on what I think to be a good biblical image that models the church. For me the model of the church is the “Bridegroom and the Bride.”Marriage is a powerful word that signifies more than a relationship or even more than an intimacy. Marriage is a sacred union of two people—without a line that distinguishes one

It is true that His love is unfathomable, stubborn and compelling. It is unfortunate that humans cannot respond well to His love because the kind of love humankind knew is comparable to dust—just like who they are.
Indeed, God cannot separate Himself from His nature, which is love. Truly, humankind cannot deny the power of His love that surrounds them through His creations and more so in them for human is the masterpiece of His love. This love is demonstrated from the time of creation—lavishing them with excellent gifts to keep them satisfied in life-- and that will culminate in His second coming to take them to be His bride. He prepared the “New Heaven” as a gift where they life together forevermore.
Frankly, human is undeserving of His love because they are evil, idolaters and unfaithful. However, despite the situation He continued loving them expressing it by descending off His throne, to be with His created beings and to die on the cross in their behalf that through His death they can live. The cross indicates Jesus union with His church and a guarantee of inheritance at present and until the day He comes back when the bribe is all ready for the glorious
No emotion has such universal meaning as love. It is an integral part of the human condition. Love is the basis for by which all other emotions can be gauged. Friendship and even grief are steeped in love. Love is so central to our lives that it is fitting and proper that it should be the topic of so much discussion. Every culture and every writer has some commentary or evaluation of love. The New Testament has its share of love commentary. The entire basis of the Christian tradition is God's love for humanity. "God so loved the world that he gave his only Son." (John 3:6) Jesus preached a great deal about love of neighbor, love of God and even love of enemies. (Matt 5:44) Shakespeare's Biblical knowledge is well known and he
The beginning of church is said to have risen from the resurrection of Jesus. In fact after the Pentecost, the disciples were celebrating the blessing given to Moses at Mount Sinai in which he experienced the presence of God. After this experience, the disciples were believed to be bold, understanding and Courageous. These characteristics till this day are still celebrated on Pentecost Sunday and are used for the sacrament of Confirmation, which is receiving the responsibility of a Christian and accepting the Holy Spirit. Church has been the backbone of people's faith. It has given them a comforting home to pray and be one with God. Today, however, more people are practicing faith outside the church. The majority of followers believe in God and life after death, however, many have lack of interest in the church. Church must be looked as a community of disciples. The book uses a suggestion from a Roman Catholic theologian Avery Dulles. He suggests, "that most appropriate image of the church for our times is the church as a community of disciples"(pp. 157). I totally agree with his suggestion. In order for Christians to find fulfillment in ones faith, one must help others understand their faith. We need to be grounded in grace; by being a Christian community your focus on believing is responding freely to a personal call and
How could GOD put all of this goodness and grace into one human being? How could it be so hard to be perfect, but look across and see perfection standing before you? It’s quite ironic that the one who loves us unconditionally can do no wrong, but loves the ones who can do no right. The only way to explain it is simply this, Give without expecting anything in return, not even a thank you. He died for us never expecting a single thing in return, that kind of love is unthinkable by any normal human
God purposefully designed marriage as one man and one woman, because God recognized that “it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him” (Gen. 2:18 NIV). This companion that God formed came from Adam’s side, and her role in Creation was to be a companion to man who was both a complementary helper and his partner in procreation. At that point, marriage was instituted, as the man and woman were united together and became “one
Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them”. (John) This means that if we are loving other people or if we have ever experienced
Christians see the life of Jesus Christ as the ultimate representation of God’s love. Through his life, death and resurrection Jesus was able to overcome the human condition of being fallen from God grace. Humans fell from grace, and their place in the Garden of Eden, through the “original sin”. If a person is able to accept God’s love and recognize its influence in their life, then they too may be able to recover from their fallen state.
But in order to obey the command to love, we must have His love in us. Left to our own resources, we have no love in us. God is love. We have no love in us unless it is the Father’s love. When we repent, believing in Jesus’ work on the Cross for forgiveness, then His Spirit comes into our hearts, and He makes His home within us; we become the Holy Spirit’s temple.
There were two main analogies of marriage in the early modern period both of which reiterated the husband’s position as the head of the household, and the rest of the members as subordinates. The first was the religious analogy between the Church and a marriage. In order to research this, I read some verses from the Bible which indicated that married couples should use the relationship between Adam and Eve as a guide for a
In the History of Marriage that is stated in the bible, it is said that it typically represents a symbolic meaning to the covenant union between god and his people.
Interpreting love differently is what makes the world go round. If everyone interpreted love the same way, there would not be a special person for everyone, but numerous individuals for a single person. People would not be unique and different in their own ways. Love is what forms people into who they are. Because of the many different kinds of loves and the different ways people view it, is why love can be divine or demonic. It overpowers the soul and the mind. It can be good and it can be bad.
The film¡¦s name is Father of the Bride. It involves George Banks (Steven Martin), and Annie Banks (Kimberly Williams). The time period is in 1991. The technique of the filmmaker is very good, it tells the middle age people¡¦s thoughts and feelings.
I believe that new testament is indivisible to the idea of love and the love is the most significant part of the new testament. I will specifically explain the meaning and status of the love in the new testament. Moreover, when we understand what love did god
Christian Marriage, also called Matrimony is a sacrament in which a man and a woman publicly declare their love and fidelity in front of witnesses, a priest or minister and God. The It is seen by all Christian churches as both a physical and spiritual fulfillment. Christianity emphasises that the sacrament of Holy Matrimony is a lifetime commitment. So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate."' —Matthew 19:6.
(1Cor 13:8 NKJV) states “…love will never fail.” and I believe it’s not just because it’s just a powerful emotion, but I believe it’s because it literally doesn’t have the capability to fail. If God is love then that means that without Him it would have been completely impossible to ever experience the expression of love or have a ability to understand what it is. Without God there is no such thing as love. He’s the source and inventor of it. When I talk about love in its purest form I’m actually talking about God, and when I’m talking about God I’m also talking about love. They go hand in hand there’s no separation between the two. Pure love doesn’t have the option to fail because it’s the embodiment of the person of Jesus Christ. In (John 13:35 NKJV) “ By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Jesus shows us that the identifying maker on each one of our lives that shows the world were His disciples or that we know Him is because we will love one another. In (Gen 1:26-27 NKJV) ‘So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” God created man in His image, and if we take the lens John gave us about God being love we see we were made in the image of a love. We were made for love because we were made for Him and He is
4:7-13 The Spirit of God is the Spirit of love. He that does not love the image of God in his people, has no saving knowledge of God. For it is God's nature to be kind, and to give happiness. The law of God is love; and all would have been perfectly happy, had all obeyed it. The provision of the gospel, for the forgiveness of sin, and the salvation of sinners, consistently with God's glory and justice, shows that God is love. Mystery and darkness rest upon many things yet. God has so shown himself to be love, that we cannot come short of eternal happiness, unless through unbelief and impenitence, although strict justice would condemn us to hopeless misery, because we break our Creator's laws. None of our words or thoughts can do justice to the free, astonishing love of a holy God towards sinners, who could not profit or harm him, whom he might justly crush in a moment, and whose deserving of his vengeance was shown in the method by which they were saved, though he could by his almighty Word have created other worlds, with more perfect beings, if he had seen fit.
