The BSW program here at Wayne State gave me excellent preparation for the MSW program. While in the BSW program, there were several sacrifices that I had to make socially and financially in order to do well in school. For a year and half I maintained two jobs, while also going to school full time and being involved in extracurricular activities. At first everything seemed easy to manage. Life became a balancing act between work, school, and my other involvements. Just recently things started to take a toll on me. However, to ensure I finish the BSW program as strong as I started, I decided to quit one of my jobs so that I can have more time to dedicate to school, my internship, and my other involvements. Financial security is very important,

SFC Newell absorbed a tremendous workload upon assuming his duties as the 2nd Modular Training Battalion (MTB) Readiness NCO. His undertaking of duties that had been handled by Course Managers prior to his arrival allowed them to focus more on instructing their respective courses. He completed My Unit Pay training to take over all unit payroll transactions to alleviate the burden on 235th Regiment after losing key personnel. SFC Newell worked tirelessly in his personal time to prepare the unit for inspections and visitors.
I have spent the greater part of my life dedicated to service. Therefore, upon leaving college I decided to do an AmeriCorps year of service and then decided to pursue my MSW at BU. However, with my MSW came financial burdens that I could not take on with my meager saving from my year of service, much which was used to relocate to the Boston area, and my Segal Award, which was not matched by the school. I have no outside financial resources an am support myself through working part-time. I will be unable to work as much due to the demands of advance year placement.

Hello Everyone, my name is Jessica. I have been attending FSW for three years. After about a year of attending FSW, I discovered the paralegal program and have loved it ever since. I currently work as an assistant manager at Dollar Tree but desire to be a paralegal in the near future. I’m excited to learn even more about the legal field throughout this class.

At the end of my Junior year I was inducted in the National Honor Society. Prior to my Junior year as I mentioned in my scholarship letter I without a doubt had no clue to what I wanted to do, after taking medical science, and nursing assistant I knew I wanted to either become an Occupational Therapist or a Pediatric Nurse. Before being a part of Honor Society I didn’t even know it existed, so it truly caught me by surprise. Since the beginning of my junior year I knew that I wanted to challenge myself in classes more than before, that was what I did. When I received the letter saying I was to be a part this high honor it felt like the work I had done all year was paying off. It pushed me to want to do more, so I did. I applied at the UW nurse
Welcome to Creekside 8th grade! We have a very busy and exciting year ahead of us. Learning to read and write well is fun, rewarding, and sometimes frustrating. As a middle school student gets ready to transfer into high school, students get the opportunity to choose their electives. I wasn’t ready to choose an elective, I was just trying to get through middle school. One day we had an assembly where high school students went to talk about the electives that were offered at the school. As I sat at the very back of the cafeteria, I remember seeing four girls with elegant uniforms. The uniforms are known as “Dress Blues”. They consist of long-sleeve midnight blue coats with folded lapels, white shirts under their coats and black knee-high skirts with some pumps. Two of the girls were holding flags, one was an American flag and the other was a Marine Corps flag. The other two girls in uniform were holding riffles and standing at attention. Standing beside the girls, stood a tall white male with great posture. He was the Sargeant, and the girls followed his commands.
As of now I am enrolled as a business/pre-dentistry student. I originally had enrolled to UWM last year, but because of financial difficulties I was unable to attend. I was very upset over the fact that I would not be able to attend school like the rest of my friends. I was so discouraged that I even thought about not going back to school. However, I knew that not furthering my education was not an option. I started working at a retail store. I told myself that everything I earned would go towards my tuition. Throughout the whole year that I did not attend school I worked the majority of the time. I picked up a lot of shifts and the few off days that I did have I would spend helping my mom around the house or helping her run errands. I rarely got to see my friends. My job was literally my second home. Nonetheless, I do not regret any of it. All of my hard work paid off. I managed to save up enough for a semester of classes. Not only am I proud of myself but I am also extremely excited for this fall! My long-range plans are to graduate from UWM and then go on to dental school. The reason why I chose to major in business accounting and not a science major, was because I feel that it will make me more well-rounded. Accounting has also always been an interest of mine. Hopefully by my senior year at UWM I get a accepted into
Jan 19, 2017. In an effort to resolve an unrelated matter, my counselor and assistant principal reached out to me, wanting to know the reason for my abscesses. The school interpreted my allegation that my teachers were not willing to work with me, as lambasting against the McNeil High School.
As a traditional undergraduate student, I worked very hard to graduate in 3 years while joining Alpha Phi Women's fraternity, leading as a resident assistant and course assistant as well as being a member of two student association clubs. I'd successfully completed an internship with MTV News & Docs after graduation and worked as a production assistant where I was almost promoted to art director and director's assistant for a pilot called Monsters. I made great connections and earned more jobs and opportunities. One of the biggest opportunities even lead me to choreographing extras in a Beyoncé music video. There are very few people who can say they've had similar opportunities. That being said, I was learning that my field was not all it was cracked up to. While I had a chance to do great things and meet many interesting and talented individuals, I also had a chance to realize what it was like to do it all while earning less than a living wage. Working the hardest I've ever worked and still not be able to pay all my bills including my student loans started to wear on me emotionally. I had to ask myself, do you love what you do? Would you continue this work if there was no money at all!? Are you willing to become destitute for these pursuits? My answer to every question was an overwhelming no. While I had fun, I realized that I required more than just fun and excitement. I
As member of the AP club, I help fundraise for AP testing. I help fundraise because I want students to challenge themselves and to continue on to a higher education. I also volunteer to remove cigarette buds from the local park. I help clean up the park because I wish to make the town look well-kept . I volunteer because I want toddlers to be safe from swallowing cigarette buds while they are at the park.
