Buck was better off as a Housedog because he had people who loved and cared for him. Buck always got to hang out with the judge’s daughters, sons, and also his grandchildren. They would go fishing, swimming, and hunting. It’s such a shame that buck had to leave the judge and his family because when buck was a sled dog life wasn’t so pleasant for him. He had to fight, steal, and kill even though he didn’t want to. He faced many challenges and obstacles that most normal dogs don’t really have to go through like when buck got kidnapped from his loving and caring family back in Santa Clara Valley to a place where survival is the only thing you must face! Life was very brutal and cold for him. Buck was one of the bravest dogs out there to have gone
In the Call of The Wild a dog named Buck goes through a few owners before joining a wolf pack. The theme in The Call of The Wild is the way you treat animals is the way they will react to you because Buck’s owners treated him differently therefore he responded to them differently.
I think buck should be a sled dog, because he weigh 140 and also have strength. Plus François is fair. Plus buck need to grow up and actually have obstacles. Obstacles like the man with the club buck was beat up because he was out of control. Been kidnapped. He learns to fight. He has a very fairly owner. Also he can feel what life is like. Like when white stuff that was on his tongue. That was his first snow. So that’s why buck shouldn’t be a house dog he should be a sled dog.
A 4 year old half saint bernard half scottish shepherd dog named Buck is living a lavish life under the care of Judge Miller and his servants in Santa Clara Valley, CA. The favorite of Judge Miller, Buck is a token to be cared for. Unfortunately though, around this time gold was found in the vast north, which require large dogs like Buck to haul sleds around in the cold snowy weather.
I think Buck should be a sled dog. Buck should be a sled dog because he learns how to survive and stay strong. He also learned how to stand up for himself. On this unexpected journey, Buck learned obedience no matter outcome. It’s not safe for the judge and his family to keep a wild animal, especially a Pitbull. Although he was the judge’s “pet” he belongs with his kind, in the wild. Soon, Buck will be as large as his father, he is not finished growing. In chapter 3 Buck said he liked the taste of the blood in his he wants to kill. Set Buck
In the south Buck faced no trouble in his sleep. He was able to rest peacefully. Buck was not in charge of having a duty or any chore to do. Buck was not interacting with other dogs, And therefore he just overall had no responsibility Witch affected him in his sleep.
I believe that it was very biased and cruel when Buck was taken away and sold. He was basically kidnapped and taken to be a sled dog. I also think that he was a quick learner and I am not sure if he likes it there. An example of his quick learning skills is when he had to bury himself in the snow so he wouldn’t be cold at night, which he observed from the other dogs. The best place for Buck, though, would be back home. That is where he belongs even though he does do a good job as a sled dog, he doesn’t deserve to be out in the cold. When he was a house dog, he was a king and he enjoyed it. He also had a nice time doing whatever he pleased there. He was very much loved, happy, and healthy. Buck was also well behaved and loyal to his owners.
Perseverance is an immense trait that rules all if one contains it. Never giving up, pushing through, that is what it means, and that’s what it takes. Perseverance can be mastered by anyone, you have to fight and never back down to succeed. Raise the bar, and push past others. Both Buck and Leighton persevered by succeeding in the face of adversity and giving it everything they had.
Both of the dogs in these stories were sled dogs and had two very loving owners. John Thornton took care of Buck while the other man took care of his dog. These dogs were very important to the people in the Yukon because they were able to travel with having the sled dogs. The setting was consumed of cold weather and snow, as Buck saw snow for the first time in his life. According to The Call of The Wild, Buck was a very strong dog who lead the team. But in To Build A Fire, the man had to figure out ways to start a fire to be able to survive through the circumstances. Even though he did not make it, we still saw that he was a very brave man, and he tried as hard as he
Buck has shown momentous physical change in the first fourth of the book.He is a St. Bernard-Scotch shepherd dog mix who weighs about 140 pounds and is about 4 years old.Through the story to about chapter 4 where I am in the book Buck changes tremendously. In the first chapter he is a fine house dog, spoiled even. But, through the course of his kidnapping and Buck’s transformation into a wild canine he gets more ragged and much skinnier, and after the wild husky attack on chapter three Buck is very injured. In short, Buck goes from a spoiled house canine to a bruised ragged savage. Buck’s appearance may have changed, but Buck’s behavior also changed.
Buck is a type of dog that doesn’t give give up, he was taken through some of the worst conditions and yet survived them. He was stolen, he was beaten, he was forced to run the entire distance of the Yukon mountain range. But yet he pushed through clung to life as if it was the only thing left that he had.
I think Buck is better off as a sled dog. His owner wanted a dog that has strong muscles. So basically he is meant or for strong weather conditions. If he is at home all day living in luxury all he will do is become spoiled and rely on his owner for everything. Sometimes dogs raised in isolation are not the most functional. If he lived as a house dog and he went out into the world be lost. His senses would not come in because everything would be done for him.
In The Call of the Wild, one theme could be that only the strongest survive, Buck goes through significant changes in his life and has to learn very quickly how to adapt in order to survive. The connection between this theme and natural selection is that if you are not able to adapt or suited for a certain task, you will fail. If Buck had not adapted and learned how to a sled dog, he would have most likely of died. When it says "only the strongest survive" it means that if you are not prepared or are weak, you will die first. In natural selection, when disasters happen or things in the world change, only the strongest, smartest, and quickest to adapt will survive. Bucks life changed very rapidly, but he was able to adapt very quickly to his
In the beginning of the book, Buck must adapt to the cold and cruelness of his new life in order to survive with very little food and recognition. First, Buck has to adapt to being transported to the North and learn to be a sled dog. For example, when he lived with the judge he slept wherever and whenever he wanted, but now that he is in the North he can only sleep under the snow and for few hours. Since, Buck learns that to live and carry on through his journey he has to make some changes from his old lifestyle. Second, Buck finds food for himself in order to survive and pull the sled longer. For instance, Buck steals food off of the man‘s plate because he is starving. Since, Buck can put his instincts into action, adapt and can be a good sled dog and stay alive. Last, Buck gets little recognition and learns to use his instincts and care for himself. For example, Buck gains confidence in himself to
Being supportive can be very loving and convincing. Learning to help out and take charge took buck far in life, my mom was being supportive so that she can help push my brother kirk to do something more. Because buck was being helpful and loving to John Thornton, and my mom was being helpful and living to Kirk and that will keep family strong. Loving and caring for family and others will keep you from living in the worst and keep you from living in Great Bend, Kansas.
