Trends are extremely predominant in today’s society; they engulf almost every aspect of our daily lives. Whether we notice it or not, trends affect the majority of our choices from the clothing we wear, the food we eat, the music we listen to and even the way we speak. Trends among teenagers in today’s society are part of a never-ending spinning cycle. Trends come, they rein for a usually short period of time and then they fade away; being replaced by the next rising fad. One aspect of our lives that trends have not yet affected however is our choice of religion. Trends among teenagers in today’s society are part of a never-ending spinning cycle. One aspect of our lives that trends have not yet affected however is our choice of religion. Although the choice of preferred religion differs from person to person, religion is not something that typically changes among one person. A person’s religion is generally their practice throughout their entire life. Traditionally, people’s religion is influenced by their family’s beliefs and background. Previously, the reasons people chose their practiced religion had nothing to do with current fads or having anything to do with the mainstream. In the near future however, a mass sweep regarding a change in the religion of choice among teenagers is going to occur due to a current rising fad that is the teen fascination and obsession with Buddha. The religion of Buddhism will soon become the predominant religion among teens due to the new and rising fad of Buddha in today’s society in the form of decorations, prints and jewelry.
