I managed 5 departments with Budget Rent a Car of Atlanta including Reservations Office, Car Control, Rates and Structure, Customer Service and Airport Manager. Budget of Atlanta is one of the busiest airports in the world and we processed over 1000 rentals a daily and. In less then 1 year I was promoted 4 times to different levels of management. My motivation and willingness to learn new things help with my ability to move up.

As the Reservations Manager and Rates and Structure Manager I was responsible for making sure all rates and codes in the reservations system such as Wizard and Sabre were correct and competitive with other rental car agencies. I compared our rates with travel websites such as Orbitz and Priceline to make sure we had lower rates. I would check to ensure rates were completive and matched with the availability of the cars we had available for rent.

Supply and demand was always a problem so I worked daily to solve problems regarding the number of reservations versus the number of cars available. This required upgrading to another vehicle class and using data to assign cars based on availability. There were times where circumstances were beyond my control and I would have to come up with solutions. As one example, I handled service disruptions around 9/11/2000 when all flights were grounded. This required me to find creative solutions for clients. With the demand for rental cars high we ran out of vehicles. I helped organize a van program where we drove in a general direction up and down the east coast and helped people at least get to the cities they were trying to get to.
