The book I chose to read is Bull Rider it is written by Suzanne williams. The book Bull Rider has 128 pages it took me about 1 day to read the entire book. I learned that when times are tough and it is hard to get out of bed in the morning you have to grit your teeth put your feet on the floor and keep stepping forward or the world is going to pass you by.
I chose to read this book because i like reading books that are like my lifestyle it has a lot to do with rodeo and all the things i like to do. The main theme of this book is is a family that is going through rough times and the main character's brother gets badly hurt serving his country and is no longer able to do what he loves. The author of this book probably wanted everyone that
"Well, it wasn't Mars, and it wasn't Venus, and it wasn't Jupiter or Saturn that killed him. We wouldn't have to think of him every time Jupiter or Saturn or Mars lit up the evening sky. This was different." (Bradbury 74). Doug's words in "The Rocket Man" goes on track of what the book's theme is. Throughout The Illustrated Man, the theme is that decisions in life can be consequential. The theme of decisions made in life can be consequential can be seen in the novel, The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury of the story, “The Rocket Man,” where Dad's decision of going up to space affects his relationship with his wife, how it has put him in a state of exhaustion, and where Dad ends up, it changes Mother and Doug.
The book I read is called Silent Warrior. It's a biography about the famous marine sniper, Carlos Hathcock. The book takes you from his death bed to the death field in Vietnam, where he earner his title as the best of the best. His 93 confirmed kills and hundreds more unaccounted made him the number one sniper in our history. The book brought out the best of the man that everyone knew as Gunny Hathcock.
The book that I chose to do is Street Pharm by Allison van Diepen, the book has 297 pages, the reason I chose this book is personally I am tired novels taking place years before I am born. This novel pertains to urban problems and one kids' attempt to survive in the pressures of present day Brooklyn. Within the novel, there are several subplots, one being his love interest, Alyse, and Ty's fight to stay in school. As well as, his fight not to lose money or control of his territory. It is interesting to watch this young man, balance these things in his life and not let them interfere with each other.
I chose the book Why Me?, by Sarah Burleton. Before reading Why Me? I was actually reading a book called Night by Elie Wiesel. After reading about 20 pages of Night, I was confused on what was going on. I decided to get an app (Amazon Kindle) and that’s how I found the book Alex by Adam Nicolai.
To be honest, I do not read much. It is not because of my lack of interest, but rather because of the shortness of time in the day. If I had time, the time spent searching for a good book would always deter my desire. However, this summer when I longing for something to do my mother recommended a book that has had a lasting impact. That book was Eat Mor Chikin: Inspire More People. This book showed me how a man working at a small diner for twenty-one years is able to eventually own a restaurant chain whose average sales per restaurants is $3.1 million. This book showed me that you should always stick to your values and it will pay off. We can look to Truett’s decision to close Chick-fil-a on Sundays continues to even this day and now Chick-fil-a
Each year, the PBR or Professional Bull Riders provide a venue for some of the best bullriders to ever grab the bull by the horns. This is the 23rd year for the Bull Fighters Only events. This tour begins the year in January and continues throughout the entire year. This year-long extravaganza of elite riding is what bull riders love. They're matching their strength and stamina against the bull to see who comes out on top.
The Professional Bull Riding Build Ford Tough Series had humble beginnings. It started when some bull riders wanted to break away from the rodeo circuit. They pooled resources and took one of the most exciting and attractive parts of the rodeo on the road.
One of my favorite books is “How to be a Bawse” written by Lilly Singh. This book is full of tips about not just surviving life, but conquering it. Lilly has really simple tips to keep you and your life organized. She also has written a couple more complex tips about how you can reach your goals. Another reason I love this book is because of the hilarious commentary Lilly has added intertwined with it. Actually, Lilly has a very famous YouTube channel with the name iisuperwomanii. Because of her experience with not only YouTube but other social media platforms, Lilly is great at making people laugh and smile. One last reason this is one of my favorite books is because of the vast amount of inspiration in it. This is why “How to be a Bawse”
Also the conflict that was announced in the parking lot where the bad older character was hit with a tire iron and the three young teenage boys were fighting with this man. For the most part the narrator consistently talks about his wild life style. He chose even though he was from a well off family and he didn't have to take that road, but we all have the choice and every generation goes though it. The narrator also tips of his rebirth and baptism in the lake while he was running from his fight that he just encountered with the tire iron he trips over a body floating in the lake. All in all I thought this story was super fun to read and relate to in the sense of being wild and ruthless, but the song that came along with it was pretty awsome and was fun to listen to and get a feel for the time period and style back in the day where it was good to be
One book or story that has helped me understand issues in our society today, would be the book I’ve read multiple times over the past two years which would be “The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas”. This book has helped me learn about the holocaust and how truly brutal it was. The boy lived in a concentration camp and was held captive by the Nazi’s (Germans). He was forced to live there with only a number to go off of. One day he will be tricked to think he is taking his first ever shower again but in reality he will be shoved into a gas chamber and burned to ashes.
The 1980 biographical film Raging Bull captures the tumultuous life of boxing legend Jake LaMotta. The film illustrates the struggles and hamartia of LaMotta (Robert De Niro) and how his flaws ended up costing him everything. Generally, people usually depict their celebrity icon or sports figure for living the ‘perfect’ life and also not having any flaws as person, but this film reminds us that this is not the case, and demonstrates the hardship that they might endure. We should start realizing the challenges of being a popular figure and how being one can ruin or kill someone’s life.
The book I choose to read was, Dead Silent, by Robert Ferringo. This was an interesting process, because I had never heard of this book or author before. I am a person who rereads my favorite books over and over, so to start a new book is a major undertaking. Struggling to stay away from my biases was difficult because I wanted this book to be exactly like my favorites.
“Back to the future Part 2” is directed by Robert Zemeckis and was released in November 1989. Storyline of the movie is that Doc Brown takes Marty McFly to 2015 to stop Marty's future son from making a horrible mistake that will ruin Marty's future family. However, when Biff steals the DeLorean to send a sports almanac back to his past self, Marty and Doc must return to 1955 to keep an alternate version of 1985 from forming. Major themes that movie describes is destiny. Back to the Future II is a film that is set in the future and identify some of the ways the film-makers have attempted to portray this “future world”. Marty McFly has only just gotten back from the past, when he is once again picked up by Dr. Emmett Brown and sent through time
My Grit Book that I chose is “The Rescue” by Nicholas Sparks. This book caught my attention by the author. I wasn’t very good when it came to sticking to a reading schedule. I have never been very good a that. Or sticking to any plan in general. There was a lot of spots in my book that was referenced the Apache Way. This was so much going on in the book. I loved how intense the book was.
The book I read is called The Call of the Wild, and it is by Jack London. This book is a realistic fiction. It is a realistic fiction because it is based on dog sledding, an actual sport, but it is a specific story that never actually happened. This book is important because it tells the story of a dog taken from his home, and shoved into the tiring life of a sled dog. It tells many important morals.
