A study has been conducted in India to determine whether bullying can cause psychological problems in adolescents. It has been hypothesized that bullying might have negative effects among these individual's lives, differing depending on the extent of their trauma. Bullying comes in many forms, ranging from cyber bullying to physical bullying, and even exclusion of an individual among their peers. Generally, bullying is a repeated offense that is usually demonstrated by an act of aggression towards a seemingly weaker individual, most prevalent in schools and among young adults. It has even been shown that at one time 160,000 children stayed home each day due to the intense fear that they would be victimized ,emphasizing the increasing problem in today’s society (Maji, Bhattacharya, & Ghosh, 2016). Adolescents were afraid to go to school because they don’t want to be bullied anymore or face any more pain than they already have. Seeing as the majority of students who go to school are bullied, it is important to know if they will have an adverse effects from it or not. Not only can this study dig deeper into the lives of children, it can also be used to inform parents of what their child might be going through. To test this theory, multiple tests were given to 273 participants, grade 6 through 8, from four different schools around and situated near Ranchi, a city in India (Maji et al., 2016).
