Bullying is a very touchy subject for people to talk about. It deals with a lot of mental, physical, and emotional damage. Bullying is violent and unwelcoming behavior among various different aged children in school that involves a lack of power for one kid and a lot of power for another. The behavior of a bully is repeated numerous times over time and becomes more aggressive as the path goes on. The bully has an imbalance of power over the one being bullied. They bully uses their power for giving out embarrassing information, control, physical strength, popularity, and harming others. Kids who are being bullied and bullying others have serious lasting problems throughout their lifetime. Bullying is becoming a major issue in today 's society and somebody needs to make a stop to it.

Bullying has become a worldwide issue that has evolved over the years. Some people may argue that bullying has decreased as more people are aware and educated about the effects of bullying. Although people are more educated about bullying, it has only increased over the years. Today, every seven seconds someone is being bullied. Every seven seconds a life is ruined. It is horrendous. Bullying rates have gone through the roof over the years and only makes life for teenagers harder now. 1 in 10 people drop out of school because repeated bullying. 1 in 10 lives ruined. 1 in 10 further education opportunities destroyed. Our current society is doing appalling when it comes to bullying.

Issue: If you or your child have ever been a victim of bullying then you know how horrible one can feel. There are many emotions and fears associated with bullying, and no one should have to be subjected to it. Bullying can have a lasting effect not only in one’s present life but their future as well. Bullying is very prominent in schools today, and there has been an increase in school shootings, which is the extreme reaction to being bullied. Children need to consider each other’s feelings before they decide to bully or pick on each other.

For example, thousands of deaths have occurred due to bullying.  There have been many cases and reports in which teens have killed or abused themselves due to bullying. Across the world 28% of students ages 12-18 report being bullied, 28% of U.S students in grades 6-12 have experienced bulling, and 20% of U.S students in grades 9-12 has or is experienced bullying. Bullying is easy to identify but hard to stop. There are signs and symptoms that are very dangerous and that can indicate whether a teen or a child is being bullied such as missing belongings, unexplained injuries, and limited friends (Medicine Net.com). Bullying can lead to so many health risk factors such as anxiety, depression, obesity, and much more. Innocent lives have been taken due to bullying which is why there needs to be stricter laws on

What do you think of when you hear someone talk about the effects of bullying? Do you think of the victims committing suicide or you would think of Columbine, however these cases are extreme. One of the gunmen in the Columbine shootings was prescribed an antidepressant medication (“Columbine shooter was prescribed anti-depressant”). Have you ever done something wrong? Have you ever called someone a name? Well you might be considered a bully. The reason that I feel I have the right to talk about this is because I have been on both the receiving and distributing end of bullying. Bullying should not be such a big problem because bullying is not a serious problem, bullying does not lead to suicide, and kids aren’t fully developed.

In the book wonder by R.J Palacio, the effects of bullying can cause horrible and hurtful things. It can cause the victim to hurt themselves or others around them. They can easily lose their confidence and think they have no self worth. People do nothing to stop the bullying they see. If we do not try we will not succeed and then it will continue to happen.

It seems as though the bullying that is happening does not only affect these students, but also their society. Many students that are getting bullied are being having physical or emotional damage done to them, making many other lives harder. Many of these children become very sad and some even go as far as becoming depressed. On many occasions, students start to physically harm themselves, cutting their skin or, sadly, committing suicide.

Bullying can have a big impact on a child and young persons life and if it is not tackled then it can go on to carry on causing different problems in adult hood.

The effect of bullying is leaving many kids with problems in school, workplace, and at home. Bullying can lead to long term problems as well. One problem is teenagers get emotional stressed. This follows them everywhere they go. In any situation it becomes a bigger problem than it is because they are emotionally stressed. Many teeenagres don’t know how to handle being bullied and what to do. They don't tell anyone and keep their emotions bottled in. When teens don’t talk and handle their situation their emotions go all over the place. But if more anti bullying groups would talk to teens there would be big changes in schools. Bullying is a serious problem found in schools in the United States, and it cause of approximately 4,400 deaths each year. When bullying continues and a school doesn’t move forward, the whole school climate and culture can be destructively affected making a huge impact on the school. Many people do not realize how serious bullying has become. If you look at statistics suicides due to bullying have increased over just a few short years. This has become a very big problem for not only the victim but the bully as well as it affect both of them. School bullying is mentally destructive to not only the victims, but bullies because of the harmful words, harassment, and physical violence involved as well as the consequences for the bully.

About twenty-eight percent of student’s ages 12-18 reported being bullied at school during the school year according to the Indicators of School Crime and Safety report, by the Bureau of Justice statistics. Across thirty-nine states survey, 7.2 percent of students admit to not attending school because they do not feel safe. The importance of bullying can’t be undermined. Teachers and parents must understand the importance of looking and listening for signs and behaviors of bullying. This will help tackle the issue before it gets serious and someone gets hurt.
